Where buy Reslink & oximeter?

Post by Dragon » Sun Aug 31, 2008 9:28 pm

Hi folks,

I'm a new cpap user and new to this board. Greetings, all.

I've spend considerable time with Google trying to find someplace to buy the Reslink module and oximeter that will work with the Resmed S8 series, but cannot find it for sale anywhere . Does anyone know specifically where I can get one? My DME was of no help. Obviously I would prefer a discount online store, but so far have not found ANY store, discount or otherwise.

Thanks for any help,

you would probably be better off buying a stand alone Pulse Oximeter, last time they sold that in the US it was about $1250.00, probably double that by now. It is not a very popular item when you can buy a aftermarket for about $250. Search for a used one on ebay.
someday science will catch up to what I'm saying...

You can try here....

... but I'm not sure why you would want to buy a Reslink? Its primarily a tool for sleeplabs.

Cheers,

Bill

Dragon,
I bought my ResScan, ResLink and Oximeter from CPAP.com. Very satisfied with price and service.

Thanks, folks, for the suggestions. Unfortunately none helped. Apparently ResMed has a new policy that does not allow online stores to sell the ResLink module. In particular, neither cpap.com nor thecpapman.com sell it, even though I finally found it listed on the cpapman store site (for almost $1300). Strange way to run a business. But in any event I would not be interested at that price. I did notice that a used one sold for $400 a few years ago, which would be an acceptable price.

A $250 stand-alone will help, but I was hoping to find something that I could easily correlate with what ResMed calls "hypopneas" that are still showing up on my ResScan graphs. I seem to be homing in on a pressure that will eliminate the apnea events (my AI is very close to zero at a pressure of 12cm), but find that I cannot reduce the hypopnea index below around 4.5 (although I have not yet tried pressures above 14 cm). I realize that these are not necessarily true hypopneas because they don't involve a measurement of desaturation, which is why I wanted the oximetry data from ResLink.

Any other thoughts or ideas would be welcome.

Thanks again,

Resmeds tend to be a little more aggressive scoring hypopneas. With an HI of 4.5 if you can keep your AIs under .5 I would simply rely on how I FEEL in the morning and thru out the day. (And we are assuming you have an acceptable leak rate?)
You also might want to start a little more "fine tuning" of your tweaking, working in .2 cms instead of a full 1 cm of pressure change.
