I have data......

Post by NeedSleepLA » Thu Jun 18, 2009 1:33 pm

but I am not sure how to get it on here so I could get suggestions on how to decipher it. Can someone help?
Realized I needed help when I woke up halfway in the wrong lane on the highway and saw oncoming traffic trying to dodge me. Fell asleep again in <2miles.

My software is out for delivery by UPS right now. I should be able to join your club tomorrow.

Data graphs have to be saved in a format that will allow uploading to a host. I use Photobucket (it is free) and I use jpeg file type screen shots. There is a way to do it with converting to pdf files but I haven't done that. Screen shots are easier for me.

Once you have the file uploaded to whichever host you choose then you simply copy the image location and insert it here in your post. Use the preview button to make sure it shows up.

The OSA patient died quietly in his sleep.
Unlike his passengers who died screaming as the car went over the cliff...

Luckily, I ordered it before the policy change. It was out of stock, and I must have unknowingly just squeeked in.

Is this the only way? Do I have to use a site like Photobucket? Is there a way to just put a .jpg file in this post?

No way to copy/paste an image into this forum coding format. It is this way with a most forums. What problem are you having?

Edit: In what step of the process are you having difficulties?

Bret - I thought "I have data" was more like "I have cookies." Put 'em out and the CPAPtalkers will come
Why does everyone else post cutesy avatars, and I'm the only one who posts a picture of myself?

Posted graph per NeedsleepLA request till photobucket account gets created. Image I received was a little small and I made it a bit larger but I think everyone can tell what the basic results are. I have the trend images also but they aren't so important. I am sure he welcomes any input.

This looks pretty good except for the VS. I was wondering about your hose and how it is managed. The machine picks up noises like the hose being dragged over something like a bed headboard or bumping on something like a bed frame as you move and counts it as Vibratory Snore (VS). Maybe it is bumping against a bed side table.

Are you using C-Flex and at what setting? If it's at 3, lowering it to 2 or even 1 might make a difference.

The rest of your data is quite good. Your AHI is very good and your leak line, with a full face mask, also looks quite good.

You will need several nights' worth of data to compare and make any decisions about any changes except for seeing about the hose situation and maybe lowering the C-Flex setting.

My hose does drape over my headboard. Maybe I could cushion it with something?
I am not using C-Flex, just straight CPAP pressure.
Last nights results are not as good. OA:3.5, H:2.7, VS:460.6, AHI:6.2

Also, my wife told me that I was still snoring some, VS could be real.....

There are hose covers available or they can be home made. Some people cut the toes out of tube socks and cover the hose.

There are "hose management" system available at cpap.com.

You probably are still snoring some though if your wife hears you. She would certainly know!

It may be an adjustment thing that will settle in time. You may still be mouth breathing even with a full face mask. Try to keep your tongue on the roof of your mouth just behind your top teeth. That may be hard but can also become a good habit when perfected that helps stop mouth breathing.

I see that your pressure is set a 15.5 cm. That's fairly high. You could raise it .5 cm.

It is also possible that you may need a Bipap machine but you could try raising your pressure .5 cm at a time to see if that helps. Ir you raise it .5 cm, try to leave it for a few days for it and you to adjust and see if it makes any difference. If it helps, then raise it another .5 cm.

I am a mouth breather. Always have been. Every time I lie down, my nose clogs up.
