Water Bubbling Up Hose

Post by SleepingBeauty3 » Fri Mar 20, 2009 5:43 pm

This morning I was woke up by my CPAP bubbling water up my air hose, which was very noisy. My Humidifer was closed,so what could have caused this to happen. The only other times that this happened was when the Humidifier was open, I checked but it was closed.

Any ideas?

I'm having trouble imagining what you are describing. Sorry, I don't have any idea what the problem is.

Hi sleepingbeauty,

Sounds like you are experiancing what we call "rainout" if you search the forum you will find plenty of posts about it.
Basically if the room air is cooler than the air in the hose you get condinsation in the hose.
You can try a hose cover which you can buy or make also make sure your machine is lower than your head so any condinsation rolls down the hose and into the humidifier.
I have a hose cover and the way I sleep I am able to keep the hose under the blanket with me.
Here is a link you can check out

Hope this helps,
Tooly

You can also try lowering the temperature of your humidifier, or hang the hose over your backbaord (if you have one) so it peaks over at you like a snake. Also be careful not to fill your H2O chamber over the recommended fill line.
