ResScan v. 03.07.007

Post by Slinky » Wed Feb 18, 2009 9:33 am

Finally got around to installing ResScan v. 03.07.007. Did my first download this morning. You can tell where the true interests of the "users" (the "professionals") lie. The Default is no longer "Detailed Data" but rather the Default is now "Summary Data". ResScan v. 3.4 the Default was still "Detailed Data". No big deal, but a bit of a PITA to have to remember to select "Detailed Data" each time when doing a download. But it sure does reinforce my disgust w/the sleep profession as a whole. What a sorry state the sleep profession is in!!

It's probably a good thing defaulting to compliance details, tech supports would be tied up, trying to teach DME's how to change it from full data, and also some might ask what all these numbers mean. Patient Users are smart enough to figure it out. Jim

I also noticed that the card in hubby's (and I assume my new machine, but only used that 2 nights so far) do not store detailed data beyond 3 days now....When I downloaded the card on Sunday, got the 12th - 14th details, but only summary for the 11th. So, need to remember to dl it daily or every other day....

The flow generator and ResScan card holds up to 5 days of detailed data, but the ResScan software will only download as much of the detailed data from the card as you tell it to download, up to a maximum of 5 days.

Cheers,

Bill

I must have some bad software. I downaload every day, that I am home, have updated to ResScan about 3 weeks ago and I have the detailed data for the last 7 days of Jan and the 17 days of Feb. except for 5 days when I was using my travel machine.

Blessings

Yup, the S8 Elite and S8 AutoSet Vantage did hold 5 days of detailed data. I've not had any experience w/the S8 IIs - but can vouch for the fact that the VPAP Auto (January 2008 release) only holds 2 days of detailed data.

BillBolton, will you explain further? I see no where in the ResScan 3.4 "or" 3.7 software that I can tell it I want it to download more than 2 days of detailed data.

Ha! THANK YOU, BillBolton. Youse a peach.
Bill Bolton wrote:The Rescan software needs to to be told how much detailed data you want to download.

There are several selections on the Select Data Type To Download dialog box, some of which don't apply to a ResScan card, but you will need to select the 5 day option for the most recent detailed data session(s) setting, if you want the maximum 5 days of data that may be on the ResScan card to be transferred from the ResSCan card to your ResScan software.
Duh! I've been spoiled. Inever saw but the two options All or Summary. Color me red-faced

Slinky - the 3.7 software remembers your preferences. You don't need to do anything other than click view report to download all data once you have set it up the first time. (I use smartstart in ResScan 3.7)

Thanks, BigK. I would prefer NOT to use SmartStart but the VPAP Auto gives me no choice in the matter. I'm stuck w/it. I've just never cared for SmartStart or SmartStop.

I just installed 3.7 so I really do need to go thru the Manual and pay more attention in the software itself when it presents an option. (That makes too much sense!).

Slinky:

I don't know what SmartStart/Stop as I am able to use the ResScan card reader and just found out something on my system. I start ResScan 3.07, plug in the reader, a "quick box" opens w/all available data in lower left, I click on view data and I get the 5 days of detailed data. If I close that box and do not use it there are 4 steps available. #1 I click on open patient, #2 I then click on download a box pops up select all available data, download, overwrite, #3 I review data and there is 180 days of summary data plus last 7 days of detailed data for Jan and the 1st 18 days of Feb (-5 I was gone).

Hoping this will help someone

THANKS, Fred.

I just did an Erase Data last night. *sigh* The instructions say to erase previous data when changing therapy settings as the previous data could distort the data w/the new settings.

I had a neighbor's grandkids over here w/her. 5, 7 and 9 year old boys. The 5 year old started screaming w/a bloody nose, the 7 year old screaming 'cause either he did it or his brother's bloody nose scared him - who knows - anyway, the 7 and 9 year old then decided whilst we were cleaning up the 5 year old and placating him so he would quit screaming to play w/my VPAP Auto!!! When I discovered it the VPAP Auto was running and the LCD screen was racing thru menu screens. I've had some problems since. We thought it was the S8 ResLInk so that we sent back to Resmed via my supplier. I just got word it wasn't the ResLink but rather a corrupted data card. I haven't had word yet on when the S8 ResLInk will be shipped back to me.

Meanwhile - can't use the VPAP Auto in Spontaneous mode as I get that very disconcerting "puff" at the end of inhalation, beginning of exhalation. And in Auto mode that has always worked so good for me, especially since adding the chin strap, the pressure is flat-lining. Absolutely NO FLUCTUATION in pressure at all. IPAP 11, EPAP 6, Pressure Support 5 and reported pressure all night long flat at 8.4 - PLUS I'm not sleeping for beans, night sweats are back, feet and leg tingling back, headaches, need for naps. The RT and I are at wit's end and the Resmed Rep is due in to my DME supplier's tomorrow so I'm meeting them at noon w/my VPAP Auto in tow.

So - because of Erasing Data last night .... I'll have to wait awhile before trying your advice and suggestions. Dang! Thank you. I get to dig out my back up bi-level, "the black beast", to use 'til my VPAP Auto is working right again. *sigh* I sure hope its something simple that the Resmed Rep can rectify tomorrow right then and there at my DME supplier's. I hope, I hope.

Slinky,

Sounds like you need to have about 3 strong hooks in the barn, just in case you have company again.

Best of luck

Don't think the thought didn't occur when she first appeared at my door w/them!!!! I've never been particularly fond of OPKs anyway and have never made a secret of it. I didn't "inflict" my kids on my friends and my friends didn't "inflict" their kids on me. Our visits were always kid-less "time outs".
