Interesting unit - haven't seen this one before but I guess we can expect more such devices from China. 1.3 Billion people, even if 0.5% had OSA, and 10% of them might afford a cpap, that is 1 big market

Re names, I doubt Resmed would even bother trying to chase them down on that (no likelihood of success even if they won )

Careful. The Chinese have had many product recalls. This one for instance https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qogWkAE1QIU

$370 for APAP, $240 for CPAP. Mask another $50. Wowzers! Darn near throw-away units. One of these outta be real suitable for back-up unit.

Where did you get those prices? I didn't see one listed on the site. I've e-mailed a couple other suppliers to get quotes and to see if they ship internationally. I was thinking the exact same thing you were -- backup unit.

FYI, for whoever's interested. I e-mailed a couple of DMEs in India and Thailand whose web sites showed they had this APAP for sale. They were both willing to ship, but would charge $1100-$1300.

However, I also contacted the manufacturer and they sell demo units for quite a bit cheaper (you may have to pose as a potential distributor - maybe someone who plans to sell on an online auction site, perhaps). I happen to have a brother who is working in China now, but for others I supposed the challenge would be getting the unit from China to the States. Direct from the manufacturer, the APAP unit itself is $270, with humidifier it's $290, and with humidifier, hose and mask it's $320. Pretty cheap for the whole unit, but probably not much different than getting a used one off Craigslist if your interest is in a backup machine. Still, definitely an intriguing possibility for people who are having problems with their insurance or whatever and who really want an APAP.

Also, I suppose, if anyone actually did want to start an eBay business, their nasal masks are quite cheap at $35/a piece and other parts look cheap too.

Here's a screen cap of their price sheet:

And here's the text of the rep's e-mail response to me:

Thanks for your inquiry.
WE only have CE certificate but no FDA certificate. So,I think no problem to ship samples to Asia but may be problem to USA.
I enclsoed the price list for our distributors.Do you have the interest to be a distributor in your area?Which country is it?
We are happy to have the opportunity to cooperate with you.If possible, would you please send me any information about your company?

Regards!

I wonder if it's fireproof. It also doesn't look heavy enough to make a good door stop. Jim

I am sorry but I am not one of those that are happy with that countries products - yet....

Remember the melamine contaminated Pet food issue that killed so many of our Pets, are we going to trust that the plastic and materials used are safe for our use...can they pass all consumer product safety tests that the US, Canada, Australian and UK have to put medical devices on the market?

Until they can do that and maintain consumer confidence...I ain't buying and won't consider.

I'm old enough to remember when it was called communist China. Now that we owe them our soul, we quit calling them that.
