Dating and the Single Cpap-er Redux

Post by BabetteNotHome » Tue Jul 15, 2008 2:05 pm

I had to share this little tidbit.

I met someone online. We're just emailing right now. We're both not in any rush to move to live dating.

We're emailing each other REAMS though, and baring our souls.

At one point I noticed he was up awfully late and commented on it. He told me about his rather extreme lack of sleep. In other words - he's functioned for years on very little sleep. And yes, he has lots of insomnia and fragmented sleep issues.

I replied that now was as good a time as ever to tell him - so I gave him the OSA schpiel. I told him that I routinely counsel people on this forum that "If you tell him, and he runs, then you've lost nothing. Anyone who'd pick his vanity over your health is not worth crying over."

And he was completely casual about it. He has clients on the hose, and he's seen what it can do for them. He has friends he's tried to talk into getting a sleep study. He spelled "apnea" correctly. He even told me about a couple he's friends with that are perfectly happy with sleeping apart so the hose doesn't make either one uncomfortable. Still in love and happy and thriving in their marriage.

I think I'm in love.

Or at least I've met a very cool human I'd like to be friends with.

So.... QUIT STALLING AND FESS UP!

Cheers,
Babs

You're doing it the right way Babette.

I had a friend that was trans gender (man to woman). He would get them in the sack before he told them what he/she was. It always seemed pretty gamey to me and I liked him/her less for it.

He/she is dead now, so it doesn't matter anymore...LOL.

JEFF!!!!!!!!!!! Soooooo not funny......

I have lots of TG friends. If this is a true story, I agree with you. But it's not funny.

Grrrrrr..................

Okies. You can't live with them, and you can't shoot them. Unless your Dick Cheney.

It is a true story and the only reason it is funny is he's dead.

But you are right about Okies....

That is so not cool.

Little wonder that he/she is dead.

GO babs!

My advice....TAKE IT SLOW! And then when you think things are slow, slow it down more!

Ha ha!!! We exchanged phone numbers, then admitted our mutual Social Anxiety Disorder was keeping us from calling each other.

I'll let you know in a year or two if we work up to live dating.

LOL,
Babs

Maybe you can go with him for a sleep study for a first date?

Heehee.

Actually, I think this is great. But still lots of humor to play with.

I'm single and my girlfriend loves my CPAP. Better than me thrashing around and sounding like a bear is attacking me.

I can't imagine it being a big deal if I met a girl who had sleep apnea. Now a girl with a penis, that's a different story. One of those hoses per bed is my limit.

Babbette,

Please be careful...our world just wouldn't be the same without you. What kind of clients does he have - he's not a taxidermist, is he?

A package of 500 sheets of copy paper is refered to as a "ream".

Babs, Be careful!!!

My brothers are into the internet thing and it wouldn't be a pretty sight to meet them one of them in person. I would LOVE to have you for a sis-in-law but I wouldn't wish my brothers on anyone!!
