GETTING OLDER IS NOT FOR SISSY'S

Post by dieselgal » Thu Jun 12, 2008 1:40 pm

I will be 55 in a couple of months and I have to say that for the last 5 years I have been on a downward spiral. I am pretty much falling apart.
At work a co worker made a copy of the OPERATION game to show all the aches and pains I have! Fortunately they don't know the half of them!
I am not sure if my problems start by being overweight or if even that started from not sleeping. I have only been diagnosed with SA and PLMD for the last 13 months but I haven't been a good sleeper since I was about 18. Anyway seems like everyday something else hurts, leaks, deteriates or falls off! LOL
This getting old certainly isn't for sissy's.

I have the body of an 87 year old woman. All my doctor's confirm this.

Theoretically I'm 43, but I'm planning to apply for Social Security anyway.

Had a long funny discussion with my Dad the other night. I agreed to help him commit suicide, when the time seems necessary, but he has to find someone else to hide the body. After much discussion, it was agreed my brother and older sister are just too talkative. They'll blow it. But my youngest sister is very discreet, and a cave diver and can REALLY HIDE A BODY WELL. She's being tapped for this chore.

Now, my problem? Who's going to shoot ME when I'm ready? Anyone?

LOL,
Babs

What a riot! Still laughing kiddo. But WAIT! I (and surely EVERY woman in the world when it is their turn) was, nine years ago, exactly where you stand now, feeling exactly the same way. Guess what happens a few more years from where you are right now?- here comes The Good News...

All those fallin' pieces morph back up into The Most Fabulous, Wondrous Woman - yes, even though she be dangling off the end of a hose via a Darth Vader mask all night long ! (let's go with "adds a certain mystique".)

So relax while you fall apart (for now). Keep connected, keep breathing, and come out the other side more wonderful than ever!

Empathizing wich/ya! You are just perfect any which way you be at any given moment!

I feel the same way at 50, dieselgal. Don't know how I'm possibly going to make it another half century with this falling apart old wreck of a body.

But on the brighter side, your new puppy is just ADORABLE, and he doesn't care in the least that you're falling apart! He loves you just the way you are!!!

Hang in there! At least you know you're not alone!

I know people in their 40's that say .."I'm to old for that" ..and I know people in their 80's that wouldn't dream of talking like that - nor do they come close to acting their age. I feel a lot of how one feels has to do with one's inner attitude. If people want to be old, they'll act old. --Being in your 50's is not considered old today...either is 60ish or 70ish for that matter.

GETTING OLDER IS NOT FOR SISSY'S

I have learned that life doesn't have to be perfect to be wonderful! It just gets sweeter every day.

I've got the body of a 21 year old - and no one knows where I keep it...

(must ref that to Terry Prattchet)

Diesalgal, I'm sorry you're not feeling better after over a year of cpap. I guess the PLM is a double whammy complication and slows up your progress?

Growing old sucks, especially as I now know how to use the body and energy of a 21 year old. I heard someone say once we should be born old and get younger. We sure would get better care in our final years as we turned into cute little babies.

I am a different person after the cpap though, and I hope the your sleep problems are soon treated well enough for you feel the benefit.

Oh, and LOVE your puppy. ((((((puppy)))))

love

di

If I were to have decided..a long time ago that getting old sucks...I'd be in a wheel chair by now! Attitude, even at an early age, decides an early fate!
