ResScan data download..?

Post by kayfouroh » Thu Mar 06, 2008 3:49 pm

I just got my used copy of ResScan, used card and card reader in the mail. I am trying to download the data from the card (which I put in my S8 Elite first) but there is no card detected. The card reader is installed fine, and when I insert the card, the light flashes fast then back to slow. If I time it right, ResScan sees the card for a second, but it won't do anything but say download failed. Yes, the card is inserted upside down. The card reader is ACR38U, USB connection.

Any idea?

Have you entered yourself as a patient and opened your file? The card has to have a file to download onto.

Yes, I had my patient file open and I clicked Download. It said please connect flow generator/card reader... then brought me to the download screen and doesn't let me download anything.

Your card reader is acting like mine (slow flashes, then fast for a few seconds when card is inserted, then back to slow), so I assume its working. How long are you giving the software before you start trying to download? It has taken mine up to 10 or 15 seconds to allow me to download (from opening the download window to being able to start the download).

If you have a laptop computer, the card reader can conflict with the Wireless Card - even if it looks like it is working.

Disable the wireless card in Device Manager and see if it works.

ResScan Software

I had the same trouble. Then I resolved it by going back to the instructions which specifically state the order in which things need to be installed and plugged in. Ever since then, my software has worked flawlessly.

Don't give up!

zorro,

Yes, it tells you how long each individual apnea lasted and the per of the night you spent in apnea (rounded to the nearest 1/10th)

That might be it. I am currently installing it on my desktop (server) and I will test it on my laptop later tonight.

I had a similar problem installing my resscan earlier this week. It wound up that what I need to do, was use the install wizard on my computer, in addition to the software. I had thought that the resscan had all the software to install it, but it wound up I needed both.

The older ResMed AutoScan v5.7 presents a truncated (simply lops off everything after the tenths place), rather than a rounded, % of night in apnea figure. I don't know whether this had been upgraded in ResScan.

But who wants to quibble?!!

Frank -

I had this trouble last month when I loaded ResScan. It turns out that I have to put the smart card upside down into the reader (took me 60 minutes to figure that out). The gold contacts should be up - the opposite side up from the way the CPAP machine uses it.

With that figure out - things are golden.

Marc...

Marc, that was the first thing I checked.

Thanks though!

I disabled the wireless and it worked fine. Wonder why these two conflict..

Velbor,

I stand corrected, it is truncated.
