CPAP Valentines

Post by kteague » Tue Feb 12, 2008 10:55 pm

My email has been overflowing with funny Valentine lines, and I thought it would be fun to get some of your best cpap related shorties. I'll start us off, and sure hope to read yours, either serious or funny.

1)
I love you, machine and mask and all
Even when you threw it against the wall
You know that hurt me to the core
Cause now I've gotta hear you snore

2)
You said I'm your funny Valentine
As you tried to hold your laughter
This get-up might not be a red teddy
But with this hose I can swing from the rafter

3)
Roses are red, violets are blue
Thanks to your cpap
I'll have a lifetime with you

4)
C is for cpap.com that helps me
P is for the people I've found here
A is for the Aura,Twilight, Headrest
P is for the pillows I hold dear
Put them all together they spell CPAP
A name that means so much to me

5)
You belch, you fart, your mask gives raspberries
Yep, that's the classy guy that I married
I really don't think aerophagia's to blame
You've made those noises since I took your name

Hey, Kathy.

preemiern's suggestion is a great one. There might be a great market for them through this and other forums. You've got some real rippers there, I laughed myself silly (well, sillier, actually!!!!).

Here's a couple of much less successful suggestions:

Roses are Red
Violets Are Blue
Elephants look weird
And so do you

With a burp, a fart
And a hose rattle to start
And a voice like the great Darth Vader
I made love to my girl
With a swish and a swirl
As my cpap pumped greater and greater

Hmmm. I think these need a bit more work - sorry, in a bit of a hurry, as usual.

But I'm serious about the card idea. Think about it!!!!

Regards,

GrizzlyBear

CPAP, how do I love thee.....
I love the rush of air into my lungs,
this keeps me breathing and makes me fun.
I love the cute little mask upon my face,
I get red marks but thats no disgrace.
I love the whoosh of air when I spring a leak,
for the perfect mask I still seek.
I love my neat Elite with the good strong cord
and the wonderful people who visit this board
But the thing that eludes and I most seek
Is the opportunity for restful sleep.

Happy Valentines Day!

Found these--

Getting a CPAP ... Living with CPAP ... Sleeping with CPAP ...Enjoying and loving CPAP - Maybe ... Maybe NOT!

A better life - awaited anticipation. Tired of snoring myself awake - Yes!

CPAP - CPAP - my life is living Crap.
CPAP - CPAP - I always have to take a nap.
CPAP - CPAP - Make me live again.
CPAP - CPAP - You'll be my night time friend.

Thank you, good Genie

Thank you too, CPAP
For a gift built to last
Delivered with such style in a
Hurricane blast

Thank you bold Sandman
Whoever you might be
Scheming for our dreaming
In the Land of the Free

Orright, orright, I'm off now. Hold your fire!

If Frank Sinatra was on CPAP, the song might have gone something like this.......

L.....is for the way you.....lengthen my life!
O....is for saving my from.....an Oral Device!
V.....is very very....cardio healthy!
E.....is for every single night!!

I also thought of a limerick that started, "There once was a CPAPer from Nanucket", but after careful consideration I decided against posting it! Cheers!

Wars arise from a failure to understand one another's humanness. Instead of summit meetings, why not have families meet for a picnic and get to know each other while the children play together?

Keep 'em coming

Post by kteague » Thu Feb 14, 2008 12:12 am

Thanks for your contributions and words of encouragement. Look forward to reading more. Nearly 2 years ago when I first started hanging out here, my life was quite pathetic. My brain was fried and body depleted from the years of struggling with sleep disorders. Giving up my career in my mid 50's left me feeling so worthless. Writing posts on here and contributing to the "funnies" was my "brain exercise" as well as my therapy. It made me feel I still had something to contribute to life, and humor helps when going thru a difficult time. There were some resident humor gurus who showed me how to laugh about it all, and I'm grateful for them. Laughing sure beats crying.

Keep those poems coming.

GrizzlyBear - Just read over your post again - the last few lines slipped past me the first time. Wonder what your AHI read after that!!!!!

alnhwrd - someone issued that Nantucket challenge a couple years ago, and we met it! Wasn't Valentines but sure was fun.

Kathy

These are fun.

I Googled Nantucket and came up with these:
viewtopic/t9177/Hosehead-Humor.html - 65k

viewtopic/t9195/A-short-poem-for-my-fel ... heads.html - 67k -

That is the limit of my contribution. Lame brain today.

What Valentine's Day would be complete without Catnapper's Sexy Swift from the mask contest?

A valentine in the shape of a heart
Reminds us of life anew
To all of you, friends from the start
Be happy, be hopeful, be you

Mask marks are red
To CPAP I'm new
If this all works out
My face won't turn blue!

Happy Valentine's Day!
