UPDATE! Shamelessly asking for your help!!! ::Off Topic::

Post by marymoon » Tue Oct 09, 2007 8:53 pm

My daughter, Katie is 6 and LOVES dinosaurs. She recently entered an drawing contest to our newspaper to hopefully win tickets to see the BBC produced Walking With Dinosaurs. She is super excited just seeing her drawing on the Internet.

Voting has been open since last Thursday, but for some reason, the paper lost her submission and it wasn't put up for voting until this afternoon. Needless to say, we are waaay behind in the vote tally. Now, I know her drawing probably isn't the best one, but it would sure mean a lot to her to just get some votes.

Could you please take a couple minutes and click on the link and vote for her drawing? I hate to ask, but it would really mean a lot to a 6 year old budding paleontologist!

***********************************************************

THANKS SO MUCH to everyone that voted! The winners should be notified sometime today, although I'm not getting my hopes up, I really do appreciate all your help. I'll be sure to update soon!

Thanks so much for your help! She really wants to win and worked very, very hard on her drawing.

Funny story: Last year in kindergarten, all the kids were asked what they wanted to be when they grew up. The teacher was making a cute poster of all the intended occupations along with the kids' pictures. One day, I was helping out in the classroom and I noticed that most kids said things like 'Rock Star' or 'Fireman.' Well, the label below Katie's photo was blank! I thought to myself, 'Great. In kindergarten and she's already a slacker!' When I asked the teacher about it she told me that Katie said she wanted to be a paleontologist, but she (the teacher) didn't know how to spell it so she left Katie's occupation blank until she could look it up.

Hope she wins! The tickets to that show are so expensive, but it looks really awesome!

LOL! She was trying to draw a brachiosaurus. Since they have a bump on their heads, that's how she draws them. She did include a small T-Rex in the picture but didn't give him teeth because she wanted him to be a nice T-Rex. 6 year olds have such imaginations!

Thanks for your help!
