(OT) song silliness

Post by zzzzzz!! » Thu Aug 30, 2007 8:45 am

A comment in one of the threads put that old Willie Nelson song "To All The Girls I've Loved Before" in my head. Even though I never liked it, it's there now, thanks a bunch!!.

And then in a moment of overworked fatigue or temporary insanity, I thought, well, maybe we could change the lyrics a bit... I'm sure the brillant folks in this forum can come up with something better. And so I'm hoping you'll contribute, line by line. Here goes:

To all the masks I've tried before...

xPAP Lyrics to Willie Nelson's Song, To All the Girls I've Loved Before

To all the masks I've tried before...
To those that I've thrown out my door!
To all the masks I tried before
I dedicate this song

Add:
To all the air blown up my nose,

and all the masks and 6' hose,

including those thrown on the floor,

for making my nose bridge so sore,

to that one mask that now I keep,

that give me blessed comfort sleep,

I dedicate this song.

My little twist:

To all the RTs I've loved before
Who travelled in and out my door
I'm glad they came along
I dedicate this song
To all the RTs I've loved before

To all the masks I once caressed
And may I say I've held the best
For helping me to grow
I owe a lot I know
To all the masks I once caressed

The winds of xPAP are always blowing
And every time I try to stay away
I always try to say they should continue blowing
So one day they just don't carry me away

To all the DMEs who shared my life
Who now are in someone else's lives
I'm glad they came along
Their errors have made me strong

To all the DMEs who shared my life
Who all said they cared for me
Who filled my nights with agony
They live within my heart
I'll always be a part
Of all the DMEs who shared my life

The winds of xPAP are always blowing
And every time I try to stay away
I always try to say they should continue blowing
So one day they just don't carry me away

To all the RTs I've loved before
Who travelled in and out my door
I'm glad they came along
I dedicate this song
To all the RTs I've loved before

To all the DMEs who shared my life
Who now are in someone else's lives
I'm glad they came along
Their errors have made me strong

To all the DMEs who shared my life
Who all said they cared for me
Who filled my nights with agony
They live within my heart
I'll always be a part
Of all the DMEs who shared my life

Well I'm movin' on
To CPAPTalk.com
And so I say goodbye
With such a happy sigh
To all the RTs I've loved before

Wonderful!!

I have to say, I can't believe I started this thread... I'm so embarrassed! I have no excuse other than being dead-dog tired (due to lack of time for sleep rather than bad sleep).

Thanks for playing along and posting such great stuff!

Yep!

The strangest things go through your head when you're dog tired.

The other day, I had the Barney song going through my head at 2 AM:

"I love you
You love me
We're a happy family."

What's sad, is that I haven't heard this song since my youngest watched Barney.

And she's now nearly 16 . . .

Who knew that stupid ditty would stick in my head that long.

To all the masks I've tried before
To all the masks I once asseessed
And may I say I've found the best
To help me snore no more.

Silly Songs

Post by kteague » Thu Aug 30, 2007 8:33 pm

How about to the tune of Hello Dolly (forgive me Louis Armstrong)

Hello Hosehead, well Hello Hosehead
It’s so nice to have you here where you belong
You’re doing swell, Hosehead,
Wish you well, Hosehead
LED’s glowing, cause you’re blowing, and you’re growing strong
All the gang’s sleeping, leak alarms bleeping,
Wearing your favorite mask of at least ten
Golly Gee, DME
Need another mask, RT
Hoseheads will never go away again

KTeague, I can even hear that being sung in Louis Armstrong's gravelly voice! GREAT!

The Hollies wrote:If I could make a wish I think I'd pass
Can't think of anything I need
No cigarettes, no sleep, no light, no sound
Nothing to eat no books to read
Making love with you, has left me peaceful warm inside
What more could I ask
There's nothing left to be desired

Sometimes all I need is the air that I breathe and to love you
All I need is the air that I breathe yes to love you
Just to have you now
All I need is the air that I breathe you're all I want
If I could make a wish, I know it would be
For just a nights unbroken rest
No apneas, no light, no sound, no leaks
Nothing to pee, no blue LED pest
A perfect mask, would leave peaceful warm inside
What more could I ask
There's nothing left to be desired

WOOF WOOF!

Hey, I've loved "To All The Girls I've Loved Before" since I first heard it. That Willie Nelson tape "Half Nelson" had some good ones.

And I always liked Louis Armstrong's "Gimme A Kiss To Build A Dream On"

(LePeu, where are you??)

You guys are such talented lyricists!!!! I'm impressed. (In addition to LMA) Re-reading these posts sure has brightened my morning and spirits. Thanks, guys - and gals!!!
