Hi oceanpearl

Yes but do you have the 32 bit version of vista or the 64 bit version

That may well make a difference

According to Gates...

It should work. I installed it on a W2003 64 bit server. I had to run the install program, then upgrade to the the 64 bit sql (free from M$), then run the install again, selected custom/modify, installed just the program.

That should work for Vista, one extra step - find the real executable, right click and set it to run in administrative mode.

There shouldn't be any problems running the 32 bit app on a Vista 64 bit box. You might, however, have a problem potentially with the smart card driver. Drivers are the last things that companies change for 64 bit boxes -- e.g., I've been running 64 bit Vista for 2 years at work, and was only last month that I got a sound card driver that worked.

but the s/w itself should work fine. the SQL piece definitely will.

Congrats on going 64 bit. Much more secure operating environment (most of the nastiness that one encounters on 32 bit just can't work on 64 bit), and with the right apps, speed.

p.s. did you go AMD or Intel on the CPU?

sql is the data storage component. Jim's interface reads the sql database just like Encore does. However, Encore is program that reads, decrypts and stores the data in sql.

Newbie needs software

Post by Erle » Fri Jun 15, 2007 9:11 am

Hello All,
I am a 3 day newbie and am bewildered by almost everything cpap. I would love to get my hands on Encore Pro Data Management software so I can closely monitor and optimize my therapy. Does anyone know of a source? Thanks!

this is kinda like me buying a macmini then wondering why my Windows programs won't install on it

you resort to calling your kids (hey do you still have that Student/Teacher version of MS Office 2004?, I think it has 3 installs on that package...)

I wonder if:

The PB-420E Silverling will install on Vista? Haven't heard anyone mention that one yet.

P.S. I know it doesn't work on the Mac OS X Tiger. It probably will under parallels 3.0 but that is probably the slowest version of Windows XP you will ever use.
someday science will catch up to what I'm saying...
