Best Pillow Mask for Z2 HME
I recently purchased a HDM Z2 Travel Machine and added a travel hose and battery. I like the setup so far. I haven't used HME with a travel machine but have missed it in drier climes or air conditioned rooms. I have used a Resmed P10 or Swift for many years but both have short tubes that apparently don't work well for HME. I have read a dozen pages here on searches and looked at various product comments at the store but would love some advice on a nasal pillow mask without a short hose. Thanks!

Dreamport mask with adhesive. Not really a nasal pillow and not really a nasal mask either. Something in-between.

Re: Best Pillow Mask for Z2 HME
Thanks. I've been curious about the Bleep mask. Unfortunately, it appears on advertisements to have a short hose permanently attached which prevents efficient use of the HME. I will search the forum again to see if there is a hack to install a HME between the mask and short hose.

Can you show a pic of what that would look like with what you have been using or how you install it?

Re: Best Pillow Mask for Z2 HME
I've used both my Dreamwear nasal cushion mask and my ResMed Airfit N30i nasal cushion mask with my Z2, and both types of headgear worked perfectly with no special adaptation needed. I don't know if the ResMed offers a nasal pillow mask, but I know the Dreamwear setup does.Snoozing Gonzo wrote: ↑Tue Jun 08, 2021 11:24 amI recently purchased a HDM Z2 Travel Machine and added a travel hose and battery. Re: Best Pillow Mask for Z2 HME
I guess what I am digging for is a good pillow mask that will will allow an efficient use of an HME unit with my new Z2. It seems that most, if not all, pillow masks (and maybe most others) have a short hose attached that negates the effectiveness of the HME cartridge by putting it too far from your nose. I have traveled extensively with an older Transcend unit that had no way to add humidity so I can continue that but hoped I could add something to the Z2. Just a bit of saline gel and a sip of water nearby seems to work okay If humidification was super high on my needs, I could have gone with the AirMini as I use a Resmed P10 so there would be no learning curve on that piece. I will keep looking through my box of parts to see if I can come up with something.
Thanks for thinking about it!

Did you get this figured out? I'm struggling with the same thing...

The ResMed AirFit P10 for AirMini mask has the humidifier chamber about 3-4 inches away from the nasal pillows.
The mini masks have a proprietary connector however, so you will also need a $15 adapter made by Zephair.

Re: Best Pillow Mask for Z2 HME
You should be able adapt the P10 hose so that HME can be used with the Bleep.
Based on this post
Cut off the P10 hose 3 inches from the CPAP connector end.
Cram on the hose to the Bleep connector.
Attach the HME to the cpap connector.
Attach the CPAP hose (might also adding a SleepWeaver Featherweight hose between the contraption and the CPAP hose)
The cut off P10 mask can also be used with HME if you 3D print a 15 mm to 22.5 mm adaptor.
The Bleep bulb connector is 15 mm in diameter (as measured with a caliper)
The diameter of the P10 CPAP connector is 22.5 mm
I cobbled an adaptor together - but I haven't tried printing it.

Attach the 3D printed adaptor to the remaining P10 hose.
Attach the HME.
Attach the CPAP hose.

So you have a bare end and that's what slides up over the Bleep hose attachment area. You have to pop off the Bleep hose first.
Then you cram the P10 hose over that little round part of the Bleep where the hose attaches.
It's an extremely snug fit and you will likely have to really work on it to get it up to the base of the Bleep frame but it can be done and it won't move once you get it up there.
Bleep hose is on top and P10 hose is on the bottom.
