What mask did Dan wear?

Did anyone watch "Roseanne"last night? There was a scene where Dan was sleeping with a cpap set up. I didn't watch but I heard it was good

A prop that didn't work, probably out of your DME's return barrel. Jim

It really doesn't matter the XPAP wasn't turned on, if there was one at all.

Yes, XPAP's are really funny, dying from Sleep Apnea, not so much. Maybe a little more effort in promoting why it's important to treat Sleep Apnea in the real world would be better than being props in T.V. Shows. I can't see it helping the cause. Jim

CPAP machines are a "cause" now? Egads.. If you're using it or know someone who is, you know what it is. If you aren't using it, you probably don't know and don't care.

Funny you don't see anyone on T.V. shooting up Insulin or checking their levels. I wonder how they missed that. Jim

It looks like they pulled the cheapest mask, and cheapest hose they could out of some old prop closet.

Just like real DME's, except they use wastebaskets. Jim

Close.
When I first got my CPAP from Lincare they opened the P10 fit pack and promptly threw the small and large pillows into a desk drawer. They claimed insurance only paid for one pillow. Their excuse was that the fit pack was cheaper for them to stock.

Which machine is that? I kind of looks like my old F&P with the cylindrical tank in front.

How do you know it wasn't John's personal machine and mask?

I don't, but I'd hope he could afford something better than that... :) It would be odd for him to bring his personal mask and hose to the set when the props department would usually take care of it.

I do find it a bit annoying when they use XPAP as a prop for laughs. It seams like sometimes they just put them in to show them as cumbersome and obviously there isn't any effort to put the machine or mask in a positive light. Others who see that portrayal of CPAP may later find them selves being diagnosed with apnea down the road and may think "well, hell I don't want to have to deal with that crap"

There lots of things you can do to make XPAP more comfortable or less medical - but when they're shown on TV that never gets brought to the for front because it's kind of counter to the whole point of showing it. I think they show CPAP as a joke or as some device to make someone look older or vulnerable.

Then again on the other hand... Sometimes it's nice to see CPAP's show up because at least it's bringing about awareness, if they don't treat it as a joke, it may get more people thinking about sleep apnea and taking it seriously.

On a side note... Who finds it easy to talk while wearing their "FF" XPAP Mask?
I have no problems talking, singing, humming, while wearing it but I have heard some people can't talk maybe cause they're not comfortable getting their vocal cords to vibrate with the added pressure.
Just a random thought was wondering how common it is to not be able to talk, if I was an exception or not.

Rest well.
