Ultra Mirage FF vs. Hybrid
I'm curious, are there any former Ultra Mirage FF users who now prefer the Hybrid instead?
And if so, why?
And if so, why?
I only lasted three nights with the UMFF I did not find it comfortable because of the large forehead pads. Besides being bulky these pads seem to get in my way when sleeping on my side.
With my hybrid my nose has been set free!
The Hybrid is my fourth full-face mask and after using it I would find it hard to go back to any of the others.
I really had to crank the other masks down to stop leaks due to my high pressure, which caused all sorts of marks on my face.
Somebody at work actually asked me if I had stopped using the cpap because they didn’t see any more marks on my face. (Hybrid + Pad-a-cheeks = no marks)

Life should NOT be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in a well preserved body, but rather to skid in sideways, chocolate in one hand, martini in the other, body totally worn out and screaming,WOO HOO what a ride!
I'm in the Hybrid adjustment process, and it is not going well. Today I had to wear the UMFF for a nap to get some decent sleep. I will save the Hybrid for the weekend when I can more afford to tweak and have long hours of unproductive sleep.
Sorry, I had a rough nite last nite with Hybrid.
UMFF feels like an old friend now. Safe. effective. comfortable.

A big ditto for what Paul said!I have used the Hybrid as well as the UMFF (also the F&P HC431). Based on my experience, the Hybrid wins hands down. I love this Hybrid! I also found the HC431 to be better than the UMFF but not nearly as good as the Hybrid.
Cheers!

I really love reading all of the info on the hybrid. I'm not due for a new mask until November. I'm trying to decide whether I want one or not. I have (and continue to) use the Comfortlite 2 with taping or the FP431. I like both of them but continue to think there HAS to be something better out there. Keep up the great reporting on this subject!! Thanks!

Information for future Hybrid buyers:
If the side-to-side radius of your face is close to any of the three
mouthpieces included with the unit, you will be very happy. I believe
most with 'chipmunk cheeks' will fare very well.
I don't have 'chipmunk cheeks', but I can make them by
putting an old chin-strap way back under my jaw, instead of on it
(Like it was designed for).
Unless you have little or no chin, I would suggest cutting off the chin-flap.

And they even "stole" the picture from the CPAP.COM website.
The hybrid works similar to the nasal pillow, doesn't it? It has nasal prongs? Sounds like a good mask otherwise, but I don't care for the mirage nasal pillow, b/c of the prongs...feels like it is squishing up my nose.
