Is this a good deal?-Updated

Post by Cardsfan » Fri Aug 12, 2016 11:04 am

I saw on Craigslist, near my home.
Resmed S9 Auto, with humidifier and long hose and carry case. 2,300 run hrs., Non smoking, non pet home. Was listed At $500, but I offered $200 and they said ok.
We are meeting in a few days so I can see the machine and test it out at a public building.

Is there anything specific I should look for? Is that an OK amount of run hours. I am looking for a machine to leave at my Dad's home as I have to fly to get there.

Why not add up the # of hrs you usually sleep x 365 (or 12 or 7 etc) and divide 2300 by that to see how many theoretical yrs are left?

2300 hours is about 3/4 of a year use assuming 8 hrs per night.

I've been using my CPAP machine every night for over 9 years and it is still going strong.

Good deal? That's for you to decide.
President-pretender, J. Biden, said "the DNC has built the largest voter fraud organization in US history". Too bad they didn’t build the smartest voter fraud organization and got caught.

9 months used at 8 hr per nite. If a machine lasts 5 years, on avg, this one has 4 + years of life left. And that's using it full time. (I only plan to use this 2-3 weeks a year, when I am at my dad's house).

Sounds like a great deal to me, just make sure everything looks OK when you check it out. Take a mask so you can give it a test drive.

Sounds pretty good. What year is it, the second two digits on the SN?

well, I'd have to ask "which of the three S9 machines that say 'auto' on top is it? the crap one, the good one, or the great one?

Sounds about 2-3 years old. Might need a new tank seal and hose, filter etc. But it does sound like a tempting deal to me.

Also you could always purchase a S9 for just over $500 brand new from cpap.com

Its a "for her" in pink too

Be sure it is an Autoset, not an escape auto.
If the latter, pound them down another $50.

I didn't know there was more than one autoset.
Here's the ad on Craigslist-- Troy, IL, ID#5664619174 (sorry I don't know how else to do the link to it directly). $500 listed price.
Is this a good one?
Do I need to ask for a pic of the S/N, would that better identify it? I'm not meeting them till Monday.

Thanks for everybody who helps in advance.

Palerider- please help- I thought there was only one S9 Autoset- and it was the best one. Which other 2 could it be? How can I tell them apart?

Ask for a REF number. Serial number won't tell you much except year it was born and where.
I couldn't make out the letters for model name and couldn't make the image any larger.
Doesn't look like enough letters for AutoSet though.

There is a S9 Escape Auto but not enough letters for it I don't think. It's an apap but old algorithm and half assed brick.

cpap.com had them on sale for $310 a couple of months ago. That was the best cpap sale I've seen yet. Of course, they didn't last long!

Thanks, I have requested the seller send me a photo of the SN and REF #. I also asked if it said Autoset, Escape or Elite on it anywhere.
You guys rock

there aren't, but there are three different S9 machines with "auto" on top. only one of the three is an autoset (that would be the 'good' one mentioned above).
