Considering purchase of Transcend Auto, looking for feedback
I've been on a cpap for about 10 years.
I used a Remstar Auto C-Flex, and that worked quite well for me. The Auto mechanism was very helpful. THis Machine has kicked the bucket, as I've been using it regularly for all 10 years.
As a travel machine, I also have an Everest II with Batteries. It isn't as easy to sleep with it, but was small enough to pack up and go in a pinch. It did seem a little bit louder than the remstar.
(Batteries are a big factor for me with camping)
I'm considering getting a Transcend Auto to replace, and use for both travel and at home use.
On paper, the Transcend is a few decibels quieter, based on the stats listed. I have read reviews where people complained about the sound, but if it's no worse than my Remstar, then I'm fine with that.
The other option I was looking at was the Z1, and it seems to be a LOT more expensive, especially if you include the battery pack. Are there any other good APAPs with battery options?
Any feedback from someone who has used the Transcend Auto for an everyday machine would be appreciated.

I read through those, just hoping for more feedback - especially from someone who might be upgrading from much older system like me. (It's one thing to compare new to new, but another to compare 2015 models with 2005.)

In my opinion, there's no comparison.......the 2005 models are still better.......as my profile would indicate.wahooker wrote:I read through those, just hoping for more feedback - especially from someone who might be upgrading from much older system like me. Also, some people in the reviews mentioned that it was noisier at the mask than other cpaps.
I'm not exactly sure what they mean. If you use CPAP A and CPAP B at the same pressure, shouldn't the mask noise be the same? is there some other factor I'm overlooking?

Maybe the noise from the machine is traveling to the mask......???wahooker wrote:Also, some people in the reviews mentioned that it was noisier at the mask than other cpaps.

Personally, those machines wouldn't be anywhere on my list of possibilities.

Re: Considering purchase of Transcend Auto, looking for feedback
Could you explain what you dislike about them?
Re: Considering purchase of Transcend Auto, looking for feedback
That would be my thoughts...motor noise conducted through the hose to the mask level and I don't think that anyone who has used that machine hasn't mentioned the noise as being something they just had to accept.Wulfman... wrote:Maybe the noise from the machine is traveling to the mask......???
Let's face it...not enough room in that tiny container to add much foam for sound reduction and the motors do make some noise...they all do to some extent.
To wahooker....we do have a handful of forum members who have experience with the Transcend but you may have to wait a bit till they happen to stop by and see your post...so keep it on the front page of the forum with an occasional bump.
Which isn't much help if you are needing a machine like right now and want to make a fast decision.
The other alternative is to search the forum for past discussions (and there have been some) for just Transcend and see what input forum members who have this machine might offer.

No. I can't say I "dislike" them, they're just not what I'd consider using. Plus, from what I've seen, the software and access is a little "strange".wahooker wrote:Could you explain what you dislike about them?
That's why I'm sticking with what I consider the best-made machines.......EVER!

You might also want to consider Respironics 60 series machines which are 12 volt and work easily without humidifier on battery. There is a newer Respironics DreamStation but I haven't seen anyone that has mentioned using it on battery and SleepyHead doesn't work with it yet (although Mark is working on it).
Since there is a newer model out, you can find the 60 series at reasonable cost.
