Reading Aircurve 10 data
Reading Aircurve 10 data
Ive been using the Aircurve 10 S for about 3 weeks. Today I set up an account on Myair to view my sleep data, but it does not go retrieve any older data, it will only show data from here on out, after the account has been set up. I would like to view my past 3 weeks sleep data that is stored on the SD card. Is there a program I can download to view this information?
Thanks,
Rick

Rick, Sleepyhead is the program of choice here on CpapTalk.rick243 wrote:I would like to view my past 3 weeks sleep data that is stored on the SD card. Is there a program I can download to view this information?
You can download a Windoze or a Mac version here: http://www.sleepfiles.com/SH2/
Once you've transferred AirCurve files to your computer have a read of Pugsy's Pointers:
viewtopic/t88983/Pugsys-PointersSleepyH ... Hints.html
At this point you will likely be as confused as the rest of us newbie's, and will seek advice in this forum.
DON'T DO IT!
That is to say, don't do it until you have opened an IMGUR photo-sharing account
https://sleep.tnet.com/reference/tips/imgur
and then tweaked Sleepyhead to deliver the visual format preferred by the village elders here on CpapTalk.

As the elders do have the extensive experience needed to benefit you,
it is best to humour their sometimes cranky (yes I said it!) ways.

Re: Reading Aircurve 10 data
SleepyHead has a few hiccups in some of the setting statistics with the AirCurve model machines but overall the important things are stable.
So you may or may not want to also look at ResScan software. ResScan is Windows only though so if you have a Mac you will need to use SleepyHead unless you put Windows on the Mac.
If you want further information on ResScan send me a private message.
This will help with getting SleepyHead installed as well as instructions on how to post images of those reports if you want to ask for member input.

Your machine is going to gather (and give you with use of the software) more information than may be really needed.
I usually suggest that newbies, who are trying to understand the reports, just concentrate on the basics until they are comfortable with what they are seeing.
The basics being AHI and the event category breakdown, pressures and leak graphs.
If the AHI is nice and low and the leaks are well controlled and you are sleeping good and feeling good...not much need to go into elaborate detail understanding all those graphs unless you just like to put stuff under the microscope.
Large leak territory with your machine is 24 L/min...so stay below that number for the bulk of the night and we can trust the AHI. Short excursions above 24 L/min may not be all that big of a deal depending on how far you go and how long you were up there. Above 30 L/min leak the machine starts having trouble sensing what kind of apnea event might be happening. Above 35 L/min leak and the machine will likely not be able to sense anything so we don't know if nothing happened because nothing happened or if something happened but the machine was clueless.
I don't panic over brief times spent in large leak territory as long as I have slept well. 15 minutes out of 7 or 8 hours isn't the end of the world.
That is of course assuming that leaks aren't disturbing sleep...when leaks disturb sleep or cause awakenings even if they are tiny leaks they need to be worked on because anything that disturbs our sleep is unwanted.
Generally AHI of less than 5.0 is considered "acceptable" therapy in terms of numbers but a lot of people find that they feel better and sleep better when the AHI is lower. Sometimes the AHI is "acceptable" but maybe there are some ugly clustering of events which could possibly impact how a person feels so it could be important that the clusters (if present) are broken up or reduced.
And there is a reason that we get cranky sometimes about how the reports are shown...often people give us reports and graphs that contain the stuff we don't need and omit the stuff we do need so then we have to ask for more stuff and it makes more work for those posting and those offering thoughts. We can give better ideas faster when the really useful graphs are shown right from the beginning.
If you want to post images for the forum members...see this thread as I have some examples in it as to what we like to see and I think you will understand why we ask for things that way. Just makes our job easier.

Not so much "instead" as "in addition to" palerider.palerider wrote:I believe you were looking for this link instead:

But I gave up the search when all I could find available was a
multipost thread here on cpaptalk which was, at best, confusing.
I've edited your supplied link into my original response.
Thanks for being helpful!

Re: Reading Aircurve 10 data
the shorganize page has a link to the 'how to screenshot' which then has a link to the 'how to post on imgur and link to the forum', so it's the best thing to give, I believe.deforeman wrote:Not so much "instead" as "in addition to" palerider.palerider wrote:I believe you were looking for this link instead:

Re: Reading Aircurve 10 data
OMG! I recently got my ResMed 10 CPAP machine, my first ever, and have enjoyed going to My Air every morning to see how long I have slept. This is great but I long for a more detailed analysis.
Then I saw the screen-shots of what appeared to be minute-to-minute wave graphs here (or maybe on TNET).
Can I do this with my machine and this software?
How do you set it up?
Please be specific cos I ain't a computer wizard.
It would be so great to know how much time I REALLY deep sleep per nite. Not just have the mask on my face.
Thanks,
Mark

it's not minute by minute though, the breath waveform is 25 times a second.
however, if you got the CPAP model, you're SOL, take it back and get an elite or autoset.
