Question re: F&P Auto - Water in Hose

Post by ldobler74 » Fri Oct 10, 2014 10:54 am

Hello!

Using the machine I find that sometimes in the morning I'll be hearing water gurgle and sure enough there is some water in the "L Connector" (my own term but the part that connects the machine to the hose) and I have to tilt the machine and let some of the water out. Is this normal or should I think about getting the machine looked at?

Thanks in advance!

P.S. I wanted to ping here first because it is a PITA to get to my DME provider hehe

Have you got the machine positioned lower than your head/mask? The water can't run into the mask from below.

The machine is a little lower than the mask but relatively even. Should that change? Thanks!

Have you got a heated hose as displayed if clicking your profil? Perhaps it does not work or the setting should be changed?

I do. It is marked as being "on" from the settings menu.

It may be difficult to determine the function of the heated tube, since the temperature should has just so few above room temperature. It is best to compare the hose temperature by touch another object.
If the heated hose works, can you increase the temperature?

I am not sure how the F & P humidifier is constructed but my S9 will sometimes do that gurgling thing if I have over filled the water chamber and the air flowing through the water chamber blows a little water into the area where the hose connects to the humidifier. If the opening in the chamber is anywhere near the water level line...this might be happening in your situation. It would be odd that this moisture at this area right next to the humidifier would be condensation so close to the humidifier chamber...not impossible but odd.

I concur with Pugsy.

Sounds like you have filled the tank a bit too much (easy to do, I've done it a couple of times). I would also move the machine so its lower than your head.
