Hi Sheriff,

I have used the Zeo with the FitLife Total Face Mask for a week. I've posted the Zeo results for those seven nights. It appears that the Zeo recorded the entire night for all seven.

You've tickled my fancy enough to give the Zeo a try. I assume the "red" lines were bathroom breaks? Sheriff

No they weren't. One sleep issue of concern to me is that I usually awaken a couple of time per night. I don't know if it is from the sensor, body movement or what, but I guess at some point Zeo recognizes it and scores an awake period.

Morning Grand-PAP
I have a question regarding your around the mask strap. I was lucky enough to receive one of the Sheriff's slightly used masks for a trial...and just as I'm starting up with it..I was unlucky enough to get my granddaughters cold..URGGGGG... and had to give up for a couple of days.
Now my question, I tried an ace bandage strap that I made for the mask but it slipped off in the night and I got frustrated with the farting noises and gave up. Did you put velcro on the mask itself or just some on the strap you made, I was thinking if I put a bit of velcro on the mask itself then the strap would not slip off..also I need to find something else to make my stap out of since the ace is way to stretchy. I have a leak strap but its pretty wide, maybe if I fold or cut it in half it might go the job. I want this mask to work in the worst way, even though I love my hybrid, I don't like the marks on my already wrinkly face that it gives me . Any suggestions would be gratefully accepted.
Cheers
Nan

Hi Nan,

No, I didn't put velcro on the mask; however, the idea does have merit. I may try it. I just used the velcro that was on the strap.

I got my original idea from woodworkerjunkie. He used a sweatband. Originally I stitched a chinstrap and taped to the top of the mask. It worked, after the first night I realized that the chinstrap was tight enough that it would stay on without the tape. Plus that allowed me to adjust the tension. I have used the chinstrap for three weeks now and it has never come off the mask.

I agree that the ace bandage wouldn't very effective. I don't think I would be concerned about the width of your strap -- remember you're "asleep," so it wouldn't matter if the entire faceplate was covered.

Hope that helps. Also, I hope you can get the FitLife to work for you because I think it is an excellent solution.

Good luck!

Gee wiz PAP...I gotta see to get up and pee
I was just playing around with the chin strap I have......can't see a darn thing with it unfolded . I pinched a couple of hair bands from my granddaughters stash...that might work too..or I can just get off my lazy butt and make one that would do the trick.. I will work on it further today and will try it out tonight .
Cheers

Good Morning Nanwilson

What I use is a sweatband sold in the sporting goods department. I bought mine at Walmart for less than $3.00. It is made of terrycloth and I pull it down far enough to cover the clips where the top band connects to the mask. It has never slipped off on me. Cheap fix and can be washed with the towels too!

Well wwj and nan,

We were in Walmart yesterday and I picked up a sweatband ($2.97) just to try it out. It is actually easier to work with than the chin strap and it worked reasonably well for me. However, the elastic is a little loose and it doesn't hold the mask as snug and secure as the chinstrap. Once during the night I was awakened by a loud mask noise. So, I guess I'll go back to the chinstrap.

Nan, how did it work for you?

I bought a underarmor brand one...cost a couple bucks more, but is really good and snug. I have used it two nights now and not a leak or a fart.

Hi Sheriff,

Well last night I slept with my FitLife Total Facemask and my new Zeo. I've attached two pictures showing the Zeo Band without the "Chinstrap" and one with it. The Zeo band stayed in place perfectly. I was never awakened by leaking noise. My AHI was .3 and I only had TWO Events and both were HYPOPNEAS.

As you can see from the graph, it appears to have recorded the entire night. I added ARROWS on the Zeo Graph to show the Hypopneas (at 3:15am and 3:21am) -- both were during REM Sleep. Plus according to my Encore Graph there was a period of "normal" breathing between the two Hypopneas and that is also reflected in the Zeo Graph, by the Grey "Light" Sleep Bar.

So, it appears there is (or at least I have) adequate forehead room above the FitLife Total Face mask for the Zeo.

I Just got the FitLife mask last week and am having some troubles with leaks. I want to try the sweatband trick but I am curious about the blue liner you have pictured here. Where can I find something like that? TIA

Hi dannah00,

It is a mask liner designed by a cpaptalk member. Her website is:

http://www.padacheek.com

Good luck with the mask. I think you will like it!

Thanks! I checked out the website and there are a lot of great ideas there. I couldn't find anything specific for the FitLife mask. Is it a special order type of item?

Hi,

I don't think she has the Fitlife mask liner on the website. Each time I have needed liners, I just give her a call. She's great to work with.
