Need a cheep CPAP

Post by Dan6 » Sat Jun 29, 2013 6:23 pm

My brother has been on CP for many years and after 36,000 hrs his died. He has know insurance and is starting a new job on Monday after an extended period of unemployment. Doesn't need any bells, whistles or humidifier just straight cpap. His prescription is 14 yrs old and he would like to skip the Dr. Any suggestions other than Craigs list?

Second Wind CPAP (http://www.secondwindcpap.com/) sells used machines of all varieties. They
range from open-box never-used machines to machines with many hours. I believe that they have some
used older straight CPAPs for as little as $75.

They do require a prescription. But if your brother has it, a fax of the old one should work unless it has
an explicit expiration date written on it.

I needed new machine in the interim of my first one being replaced. I found a new Remstar on Craigs List with only 4 hours on it. Almost everything was in sealed plastic. I paid $100.00, brought it home, changed the settings, cleaned it to make me feel better and it works perfectly. Insurance did get me a new machine and I keep the "used" machine as a backup.

Try Miss Lily. She said she had an old one to give away for the price of shipping. Read her post (last one in the thread).

Thank you for the replies, I have sent a pm to Miss Lilly. The ones on Crigs list in the area are pretty expensive, people are trying to recover the DME list price.
