Quattro Mirage Full Face Mask leaks
I wasn't successful getting started so i went back to the place i purchased the equipment. Apparently I didn't have the mask put together tight enough and it wasn't high enough on the bridge of the nose. Had 2 good nights, thursday and friday (first time in years sleep) but last night kept getting leaks around the nose area. Showed my husband and he thought that the way it was constructed there is supposed to be some air coming out, but I didn't think air was coming out when the technician put it together. Tried everything to stop the leak. Tried repositioning and make sure everything was put together tightly.
Any suggestions? I slept terrible last night and the technicians are not available to talk to until tomorrow. Thank you!
By the way i can definitely tell the difference when it is working right. I had 5 hours restful sleep for two nights for the first time in years when it was set up right.

Air suppose to come out thru those small vent holes at all time. But not from the peripheral seal around the mask.

There is supposed to be some air coming out of the holes in the mask up on the area on the top of the nose area but not from around the cushion.
On the the things I found was that the adjustment of the forehead pads was important. If the top of the mask is too far out air will leak when I tip my head forward.
It can take a while to learn how the mask needs to be adjusted for you.

You could try these tips: http://maskarrayed.wordpress.com/taming ... e-quattro/
They didn't work for me, but that's because that mask would not fit well with my facial structure.

I've never been able to get the "float on a cushion of air bit to work". I've got few leaks but I use a pad-a-cheek liner and tighten the straps and much as i can

Re: Quattro Mirage Full Face Mask leaks
For me with a similar mask, if it leaks around the nose, it is too Higgins the nose. If it is fine except when I smile, then I need to adjust the lower part of the cushion downward, but only the cushion. That doesn't require me taking the mask off.
If I can smile with no leaks, my mask is positioned correctly.

Who would have thought it would be this challenging to sleep and breathe at the same time?

Do you smile a lot when you sleep?

Re: Quattro Mirage Full Face Mask leaks
A combination of Pad-a-cheek liners and following the tips in the Taming of the Mirage Quattro worked wonders for resolving leak issues for me!!
What are your pressure settings??
If you have higher pressures, fitting the mask laying down in the bed is an absolute must!!

I can't describe the expression I do make when I do cause leaks. It may just be while I swallow, but it something about the outside edges of the mouth rather than just opening the mouth. And that is a leak that bothers me if I don't fix it.

Re: Quattro Mirage Full Face Mask leaks
Me neither. I finally realized that mask just would not work for my facial structure. I had to crank the straps too tight to stop leaks and that created neck issues. May be time to try another mask.johnthomasmacdonald wrote:I've never been able to get the "float on a cushion of air bit to work".
