Keeping notes in Sleepyhead
Keeping notes in Sleepyhead
Just thought I'd throw this out there...please forgive this noob if this is already a topic on the forum....I called myself looking for it before posting this...
I find that it helps me personally to make notes on each night's sleep in the note section of the sleephead software. I'm also thinking that when it comes time for a follow-up with my sleep doc that some of this could matter if he wants to make adjustments. Plus it may help me see what affects my sleep; i.e., what I should avoid before bedtime....
-I use it to record which mask I'm using (New to cpap. Still under 30 days and still trying to find right mask for me.)
-What meds, either prescription or over-the-counter, I take before bed.
-Stress level of that day; problems at work
-If I did any physical fitness training that day.
-How I'm feeling generally
-If I notice what position I was sleeping in when I have high/low AHI.
-Just about anything I can think of....
Here are a couple of entries for example.....
-"Used F&P Eson all nite. Headgear seems to be working loose; may need to tighten up. Took Nyquil before sleeping."
-"Used Wisp. Took Nyquil. I believe that from 0745 on I was on my back where AHI was highest."
-"Forgot to put the SDcard back in the 460P!! so data is incomplete.....Used ComfortGel Blue nasal mask all night."
I figure that since sleepyhead already has a notes section built into the software, why keep a separate sleep journal?

I haven't yet found a good way of printing out just the notes section, though. Have you found one?
It's easy to find which days have notes attached by looking at the calendar (those days are bolded), but I have over two years of very detailed data now, and I think my sleep doc finds me a little...intense...as it is. I don't want to bring in a two-year printout.
In addition to medications, I will note whether I've had caffeine or not (I give up coffee all the time).

Dancer,
I haven't found a way to print out the notes yet. Also, It had not occurred to me to record caffeine use. I get caffeine every day in coffee and sodas. Guess I should start keeping up with that...it's gotta be affecting sleep somehow....Thanks!

Re: Keeping notes in Sleepyhead
Is there a way to attach notes to a time on the graph?
I'm currently reviewing my second day on the machine for example and I know that at point X where the flow stops I woke up, at point Y I tried to put on the full face because my nose was clogged and was suffocating, and at point Z I decided it wasn't helping and put the wisp back on...and that the OA after that was me holding my breath to trick the machine into bumping up the pressure.
I'd like to attach these notes or somehow at least create a timestamp text based on some mouse event in the graph.
Is such a thing possible?
I think that'd be an awesome feature...if it's not there maybe I'll add it

Re: Keeping notes in Sleepyhead
The graph has a timeline...I just note the time and make it a part of my narrative. For example, I might note "the two events between 10 and 10:15 can be ignored as I was wide awake."

That works decently. Confusing interface, but does the trick. Thanks.

Re: Keeping notes in Sleepyhead
I make a note every morning of my Blood Pressure and usually how I slept. I also often go back to yesterday and make a note of how I felt. Especially if extra good or extra bad.
The notes are just for me, but I think its a pretty cool feature. I am sure he would would appreciate the suggestion for the printing option. They can probably add that in as they go.
