Need Help getting SleepyHead to work

Post by DannyPh » Thu Apr 25, 2013 6:25 am

I received my Card reader yesterday and attempted to access Data on sleepyhead this Morning and I can't get it to do anything. I clicked on Run Administrator as Pugsy said but still can't get anything to work. I am sure there is something I am not doing right and Need Help in getting it to work so I can access my nightly Graphs. Thank you

A couple of questions:

1. Is SleepyHead running or does it fail to launch?

2. Does your card reader show up when you go to import data?

3. Assuming #2 happens, are you just selecting that drive letter (i.e. "E:")? You do not want to select any subfolders.

4. What version of SleepyHead displays in the top bar? It should show "v0.9.2-1"

I am using the 9.2.1 version and when I open sleepyhead it says Import data but when I click on Import it says No Data. It takes me to a screen that says choose a folder and the only options I have is Backup and computer. Neither works. I am wondering if MY sd card is locked bt the DME. When I check the LCD screen it says SD card Off. Maybe I need to change the setting to on. I don't know.

Outside of Sleepyhead, can you access the card reader and see the smart card data? If not, you need to see if the card reader is actually being recognized by the computer. If so, then you just need to go into the Sleepyhead preferences (File/Preferences on the main menu) and tell the software where to look for the card.

I actually copy the card data to a thumb drive before I mess with it just to make sure that I'm not altering or deleting anything that is necessary for my doctor (or insurance company!) to know or see. I can then have Sleepyhead look at the thumb drive for the machine data and move forward from there with no fear that I am wiping out historic data.

Sounds you are seeing the Windows pop up for "what do you want to do with this SD card" thing...ignore that pop up..close it out.

Open SH and when you click on import again...choose "create a new location"...then navigate to the drive letter where the SD card is sitting...don't go into the SD card at all. Stop at just the drive letter because that is what SH is looking for.

Do you know what I mean by "navigate to the drive letter where the SD card sits"?

The pop up window that occurs when you insert the SD card is NOT the window that you will be using to import SleepyHead data.

Have you read the SH User Guide? If not, read it. Link in my Signature line.

Do you want to chat on the phone? I can walk you through it in 3 minutes. Hard for me to type what I mean by navigate...since you don't have a clue what I am talking about to start with. I can type for 30 minutes or talk to you for 3.
I have about 30 minutes before I have to leave the house...send me a PM with your phone number and I will call you.

Or we can wait till this evening...whatever you want to do.

No problem. Send me a PM if you need me. In the meantime...

Depending on the operating system for your computer navigation just means using something like MyComputer to go to specific areas on the computer.

http://www.computerhope.com/jargon/m/mycomput.htm
Using MyComputer to navigate just explains the movement. You wouldn't be using it in SleepyHead...this link explains what I mean by "navigate" to the drive letter...so more of what you would do.

With SleepyHead you use SleepyHead to navigate to the base drive letters on your computer to find the drive letter where the SD card sits. Easy to do once you learn how to "navigate"

Nope. Viewer is a Respironics software.

Do you want to try ResScan?

Let me call you...I can get you comfortable with SH in 3 minutes.
