Hope we can get a prayer group going for our friend Mark. He lives in Bundaberg. I sure hope he's OK.

Praying for him and those others affected. Can't imagine having a baby or young children and not being able to feed them. Hopefully, help is reaching these people now.

Thanks for posting this Dori -- prayers and well wishes to Mark and his loved ones, and to all affected. Hopefully Mark will check in when he can and let us know how he's doing.

I never saw this thread so thanks for the link. I am so sorry for what you and the residents of that area are experiencing. I can't imagine what that must be like.

I will think good thoughts for Jedimark and everyone affected by this horrific situation.

Taringa542, I missed that too. When I saw the thread title I figured not being an Aussie the topic wouldn't apply to me. Sorry 'bout that. Glad things are faring better for you than some. Does anybody know if we have any other forum members in that area?

Hi Guys & Gals..

Thank's for thinking of us in soggy ol' Queensland

My family is safe and dry, I'm about 5 meters above the peak flood line..
The water peaked at 9.53m, a good half a meter over the highest on record set in the 1890's, and is now dropping fast.

I was extremely fortunate and even kept my power and internet throughout, however I know there's been many who have not been so lucky.

The community spirit in Bundaberg has been amazing, people pulling together and helping each other, even though a lot of people were scared because this flood was passing limits never recorded before.

I've never seen so many choppers in the sky at once.. The local rescue services, and the army blackhawks were going rampant getting 1000's of people who were cut off to safety.

Sorry for not posting sooner, kinda got caught up with checking the floodwater and stuff.

Thanks for checking in Jedimark.

I am sure everyone here will be extremely relieved that you and your family are ok. We will continue to keep Bundaberg in our thoughts.

Hey Mark,
Thanks for the offer on the other thread, we are all good here except for power, thank God I have Solar with batteries.Where we are, we had over 756mm rain (30+ inches) in less than three days & gale force winds, quit scarey. Gotta love cyclones!

I have family out at Eidsvold & they dont expect to get power for 4 weeks

Anyway all good here & glad your OK, BTW we have friends @ Millbank

Glad to hear your ok.

The winds were phenomenal. Was up the entire night when the tornadoes were happening.
Big trees just fell over all around. Unfortunately the stupid massive palm trees in my yard I hate so much didn't. (Why plant palms people???)

My folks in Gympie lost power for quite a bit, thankfully someone had a spare 4.5kw generator to loan them and that kept their freezer running.
My wifes sister lives a block away from the Burrum Heads tornado path. The noise of it scared the living daylights out of them, and quite a few houses right near them were wrecked.

I feel almost bad not so seeing so much as a power glitch.
My ADSL router died on me by coincidence, but I had a spare one. Now I'm stuck with slow 54mbit. Nooooo.. (talk about first world problems.)

These kind of events do indicate the need to be prepared for us CPAP users. I have a small UPS, but I don't know how long it would run my machine for.
I need to investigate a good CPAP battery backup.. One I can take with me camping.

Some pics I took here:

Mark, I'm happy to hear that you and your family are OK. It sounds like an awful situation there. Good thoughts and many prayers are winging your way.
