Oboma .. another term
Re: Oboma .. another term
I prefer Oboamnation, as the spelling, closer to the facts. Folks the people have spoken, at least the welfare riders, and others that prefer others pay their way instead of them having to pay for their own needs.
The Sheeple have spoken, they want the government to pay for all their wants and needs, but they aren't aware that the government only spends money, it comes from the working people. We have many more Steeple than working people, that is why our country is in economic crisis.
Welcome to Obamnation, where everything if free for all, the Bill of Rights is superseded by executive orders add in the fall of our monetary system, martial law and instead of equal rites, we have no right. Steeple stand tall, you have been lead well, drink from the troth. It's a shame that the people who we allow to run our country, have never been made to work and produce a useful product with their hands. We question a persons ability to sweep floors more than we do to run our country. Jim

And to add, now my healthcare premium share is likely to triple as I work for a small company < 60 employees, that is if it is even offered to us anymore after the next year or two. The owner has already eluded to this possibility if Obummer got re-elected. Just to add, my annual income is under $50k = So what is he doing for me? Bumping me right out of any chance at being in the "middle class" and straight back into "poverty level net income" in the end. But the people whom chose not to work are becoming better off than me whilst they suck on the government teet.

What part of pre-existing conditions do you OSA folks not understand? Romney said he would cover pre-existing, then as usual, the next day the campaign issued a retraction, only covering pre-existing conditions if you are continuously covered under insurance. He said, folks "can always go to the ER, and not die in their apartment". Obamacare takes a Republican idea of self-responsiblity for insurance available for all to decrease the cost shifting of the non-insured onto our insurance rates. Plus, Obamacare looks at accountable care organizations like Mayo or Cleveland Clinics for how to hold down the healthcare costs. Even Ryan, until he became the VP pick, had supported the $716B out of Medicare to providers and fraud, all to extend Medicare another eight years.

Look at the bright side, we can get a Welfare Phone made in China, maybe we can make enough with it selling drugs to offset
our medical costs. Jim

[quote="ughwhatname"]Sadly, there is another side to "totally ruin(ing) good, hard-working people" effect. My company, of which I manage the benefits, is looking at a $500,000 increase in medical insurance alone for the exact same coverage for 275 employees. If we don't reduce the plan coverages or greatly increase employee contribution to compensate, then its possible that some good, hard-working people will lose their jobs.
This thing they call obomba or what ever,That THING is not my president! no, no, no not ever.

This thread WAS getting interesting. Maybe we should have separate threads for FOX, MSNBC, and PBS viewers.
Give it up Goof. What are you going to do when more than 51% of voters in Indiana turn out.

Re: Oboma .. another term
I'm disappointed. I was really hoping my business could recover, but it is clearly back to just a hobby. I was doing great in 2007 and 2008. But as gas prices stayed up, my costs continued up, and my customers became scarce. My business is photography at events such as cat shows, dog shows, and horse shows. All of these require me to travel to get there, and my customers to travel as well, mostly in larger vehicles. In the past 4 years, I had a great 4 months in 2010, but it was mostly mediocre, and this past year has tanked. Today, a good show for me is one where I break even on my costs. Never mind making a profit. A few years ago, a typical cat show had 200-225 cats. Now, 130 is considered good. And the people who make it to the show, spent more to be there, so they just don't spend as much with the vendors anymore. The last show, I left my vendor products and equipment at home and went for fun only. It was a lot cheaper since I could carpool with somebody. The show hall was huge, but only two vendors were present.
We lost 3 cat shows this year that were annual events for many years prior. We have lost at least 10 since 4 years ago. And many shows that used to be 2 day events are only 1 day. As a vendor, that cuts my sales big time while only cutting one night hotel. My setup and takedown work are still the same. I had really hoped to expand my business, not constrict it even more. I had to give up 5 shows this year that I did last year because the gas is simply to high and the potential sales too low.
As for insurance, I'm glad that other people will be able to get insurance. I wish it was not at the expense of my own. It will be gutted next May when my contract is up for negotiation. My employer has few options. If they keep it as is, they will have to pay the 40% Cadillac tax or pass it on to us. Something, they know we can't afford since we are not high wage earners. So, they will have to gut it below the tax requirements or cut it altogether. That won't go over well, so we will be at risk of a strike too. So, whether it happens or not, I HAVE to be prepared, and that means going bare bones on costs and somehow sticking up on food, pet supplies, medication, etc so that it doesn't all hit me at once next May.
I have no idea what I will do if my employer dumps my insurance. My insurance is currently free as my premiums get paid back to me in my HRA account. ANY government plan will be more costly than what I have now. And unlikely to be anywhere as good. I know my current doctor doesn't accept medicare, medicaid, or any government plan.
And we have yet to see what will happen when these new EPA regulations pass. It sounds like coal will be pretty much eliminated. Gas and utility prices will go up, and that will take all merchandise prices up.
I don't know about the rest of you, but I can't absorb all these extra costs easily. I'm already living paycheck to paycheck.
I didn't have many dreams other than a successful business, and someday having a small property with a horse. But that is looking like an impossibility now.

Re: Oboma .. another term
Indiana seldom is in position to change a federal election. Due to the outdated Electoral College system, one person one vote isn't allowed, other course some states, some get more than one vote. I wish our politions were as smart as Charlie Sheen, at least he pays his own way in this country, just in fines, he supports two Sheeple's welfare checks! Unfortunately we still have the same obstructionist Congress we had 2 days ago. We live in one of the few democracies where you give a President a mandate and then do all you can to prevent him from getting the job done.
Hopefully we can throw a lot of them out in 2 years.

As a business owner it is so sad to see the amount of lawyers and accountants who call themselves politicians the WE ELECT into office every year. My lawyer tells me daily you cant do that,my accountant says you can't afford that. The best part is both gladly stand with hands out and collect the fees. Now WE sit here and wonder why the country is in this shape.

I find all this whinning kinda funny...It doesn't matter what country it is, it is always the same..
The guy that you voted for didn't get elected so you are disgruntled and fed up...........if it was the other way round..it would still be the same....the guy that you voted for didn't get elected so you are disgruntled and fed up .............the advice I give is, next time YOU run for office if you think you can do a better job ....and It is the same in this country, as yours. Also the person that complains the loudest needs to be asked the big question "did you bother to vote....if you didn't exercise your privilege to vote, then you don't get the privilege of complaining'.
Like I said..it doesn't matter which country it is, the day after elections, its always the same .
Cheers
