Thanks but I can't get that link to load for me?Todzo wrote:Hi lazer!lazer wrote:I know and completely understand what you're saying. My problem is I'm dependent on the benzo's to control my anxiety. This could easily make you sleep through an alarm, feel tired during the day and make your deep sleep go as low as it did on your Zeo. If you're using this for insomnia, I'd take a strong look at what's contributing to your insomnia.lazer wrote:Thanks again for the responses. Makes sense, especially the change of seasons and lack of exercise. Could be the benzo's but I've been on them for quite awhile in one form or another. Lately I've seemed to been able to tweak my alarm clocks a little better to wake me up in time plus my kitten/cat has been nudging all up at my face I guess when the first alarm sounds which is annoying but helpful.
I look at benzodiazepines for sleep (Ambien, et al included) like the little kid with his finger in the dam.
So how do you score on this baby: http://www.heartofengland.nhs.uk/upload ... nnaire.pdf

Hi Lazer!lazer wrote:Thanks for the followup and info Todzo. I will take the test but don't know how accurate it will be since I'm on a steady dosage of Clonazepam that rids pretty much all of the mentioned. I guess I have to think back pre-benzo to answer accurately?
Thanks Todzo and have a wonderful Bike ride. 3mg of Clonazepam a day for me. Anxiety pretty well in check but sleep certainly seems a bit off to say the least. I mean, I can sleep 7 hours/ 9hours/ 12hours ... and it all feels the same. I feel like I slept but also feel like I would like to lay in bed and sleep some more.Todzo wrote:Hi Lazer!lazer wrote:Thanks for the followup and info Todzo. I find myself strangely inspired to put on my bicycle helmet and go for a long ride today. I am going into a time of high stress, I need by breathing reflexes to not "take off" and, recently seeing one of my friends on two high dose benzos - I really do hope to avoid them.
Have a great weekend!

I would be interested in finding these. My doc has also had me on 300mg of Gapapentin 3x daily which seemed to help at first but back when I discontinued the xanax for that brief month last year, it didn't seem to hold it's value although I am still on it also.kutastha wrote:Once again, you probably feel this way from both the benzodiazepines and the poor sleep structure. That's a pretty generous dose of Klonopin, and though being on it for a long period may increase your tolerance, it may still have pretty significant side effects. It's a push-pull on taming the symptoms of anxiety versus sleeping and feeling better. Like I said, there are other medications out there for anxiety that may not have these side effects.

Typically, SSRIs are used treat chronic anxiety, but beta blockers, tricyclics antidepressants and others can be used. I find gabapentin unusual in that it is an antiepileptic medication, which can cause some drowsiness and slight cognitive slowing, so perhaps that's the effect you felt. If you have a psychiatrist, I'd discuss your sleep troubles and the possibility Klonopin may be contributing to them with him or her. If you don't have one, it might be worth seeing one.lazer wrote:I would be interested in finding these. I do have a psychiatrist. I'm also on an SSRI (Generic Lexapro) - but it in itself doesn't conquer the anxiety as did any others in the past: Prozac, Effexor, Celexa, Cymbalta, ect... and the thought of using "tricyclics" scares the shit right out of me because of all the side effects I've oft read about concerning them. But I do appreciate your input. I see my psychiatrist this coming Tuesday on the 9th. so I'm not sure what to really talk with him about other than my ongoing concerns regarding the effect(s) of the benzo's on sleep since my mood and anxiety has eased and depression isn't currently an issue either.kutastha wrote:Typically, SSRIs are used treat chronic anxiety, but beta blockers, tricyclics antidepressants and others can be used. This is the push-pull I alluded to. Good luck.lazer wrote:[I do have a psychiatrist.
