Thank you Pugsy very helpfull indeed.

I tried the neti type pot at a yoga class once and found it quite daunting.

That looks so much easier. I have found that they are available from amazon. I shall order one tomorrow and give it a go.

I'm sure it will help to clean out pollen, so that should help. These have been around for years. Be sure to use Distilled water and not tap or well water.

I am just wondering why not tap water? I understand not using tap water for the humidifier, surely the nostrils are not going to get mineral deposits? I thought tap water would be quite safe.

Can anybody tell me what I should be looking for to see how many hours my machine has done in total?

Is it blower hours that I should be looking for?

I bought my machine used. Can hours of use be tampered with?

Thanks

I don't want to scare you but there have been some nasty rumors on here about bad things happening when people used well or tap water. I don't believe it but didn't want to alarm you either.

Machine hours are the hours of use over the entire life of the machine. These cannot be altered at the patient level.

Blower hours can be reset to zero as well as therapy hours for a reset of all data for a new patient so that old patient data doesn't get mixed in.

Thanks Pugsy.

Where would I find out how many hours my M Series has done?

And what would it be called?

The clinician manual should explain how to get to the hours of use.....on the setup menu...4 corner thing... think in the lower left corner...go into that setting like you would go to the area to setup up the pressures.
I forget what it is called. Same place you would go to view the onscreen AHI.

Hi Pugsy

Would the total hours the machine has done be compliance hours shown on the machine?
thanks

No...compliance number is only the days of usage with greater than 4 hours of use each night.

There should be other machine hours over in that section where you found compliance numbers.
Scroll through the menu. If you don't see it...then go into the clinical setup menu and there is a section to "turn on" so that patient can see the data...like AHI averages and such...then the hours of use should also show up.

How to find M Series Bipap Auto Hours??

Post by sleepinglass » Fri Apr 13, 2012 8:01 pm

Hi Pugsy

I have looked everywhere but unfortunately I am unable to find the hours. I have scrolled through everywhere in the set up menu and also the non set up menu but am not able to locate the hours!

Is there anybody who has an M series bipap auto to hand and is able talk me through the exact steps to find out the hours of use the machine has had?

Thanks
