The thing that torks me off Bob is the fact that you have to beg and plead with ResMed to get this. They don't openly post it on their website. I asked them how I could get this next time and they said I had to ask for it. As a software developer, I always make sure my users have access to release notes when I update something. It's always in the install package. For whatever reason, ResMed doesn't think that is necessary.

The thing I like the best was seeing all the bug fixes. Nice to see they are addressing them.

Fantastic Uncle Bob, I downloaded ResScan 3.16, but please tell me what kind of USB reader I need to buy? My Windows computer is a 2004 Toshiba that only has a USB port. Many thanks for your contribution to society. Sincerely, Austin Texas Lady

Any standard USB SD card reader will work. Check wallmart.

Please login and fill in your equipment profile.
If you have a ResMed S9 any card reader will work, If its an S8 you need a proprietary card reader.

Yikes ! Help !

I never came across a version 3.15

You have to fill in the form before you can download. And yes, Mickey Mouse can still be your name

Help ! I downloaded and installed V3.16 on my win64 bit tower. I didn't read the manual because I've used 3.12 before. Removed the SD card from my S9 Autoset, and read the data and saved it.

BUT then when I inserted the card back into my S9, it erased the card without asking me to do so.

1. Why did this happen ? I don't remember V3.12 erasing the card after the data was downloaded.

2. My insurance company will not be so happy.

3. I found the ResMed folder (with patient name) in the Library folder. Will burn this to a CD and bring it to my doc. Will she me able to put this in her Library folder on her PC and be able to read the data ?

Suggest everyone BACK-UP or Image your data card on your PC or Mac before reinserting it in your CPAP machine.

I find it very surprising that the card was erased. Hopefully someone can comment on this.
I often transfer a user file from my laptop to my desk computer by transferring the entire patient file from the ResMed data directory on one computer to the ResMed data directory on the other. This is also going from Windows XP to Windows 7. Apart from the ResMed data directories being in different locations there are no problems

Good to know. After launching the app, I saw the data for the past year. Burned the data file folder to two CDs. Do you know if I can change the patients name on those data files and it will be interpreted as that new name in the program ?

Looking at the excellent release notes from the above post, I noticed the following comments

Settings
Set Temperature Unit is settable for all S9 devices via ResScan
All data on SD cards/USB drives may be erased via the ResScan
Settings dialog
Compliance threshold configurable from 0-16 hours

There is a provision in the settings menu to erase the SD card. I've never been into this menu before as its where you can alter the machine settings via the SD card, this is a function we don't require as we have direct access to our machines. Is it possible that you altered the setting there?

I've just being play with patient files in the data directory. I created a new directory with a name "Surname, Christian Name" and copied all the files from another patient into this directory. ResScan opened it without any problems. The answer is therefore Yes, you can change patient names.

I do believe that if you insert the card into your unit it will write the summary data back to the card. As far as the high detail flows though, unless you back those up, I'm thing they are gone.

This is all the more reason that Resmed needs to publish these notes to the public.

Thank you, John. This gets even stranger. When the display indicated it was erasing the card, I removed it immediately. Checked the card on my Mac and the file directories were bizarre, and 0 kb used. Put the card back in the S9 and it was UNreadable. Asked if I wanted to reformat it--- I pressed yes. Then the one year of data reappeared selectable on the LCD/LED screen !! What and how is this happening ?

In the computer world, reformatting at the least destroys directories and gives the appearance that there is no data. From where did this card get the data ? The S9 ?

yes, it is my understanding that the S9 keeps one years worth of summary data on it. I'm not 100% certain of the exact time frame of data, but I thought someone said one year someplace. I know it happened to me once, but I backup my card data daily before I run ResScan.

As a side note though, I have been using SleepyHead more as it keeps getting nicer and easier to use.

From where may I obtain SleepyHead ?
