Sounds like a socialization issue, or some Freudian maternal thingie I flunked a psych test on back in college.

No, no, no - you're taking me the wrong way. I'm not trying to dis the ladies here. It's just the heads that represent females are so unrealistic. They all look like the wife of the alien from the movie Close Encounters. Go ahead - look at them and tell me what you honestly think. Hmmm, maybe it is a little bit of a Freudian thing too . . . I'll add that to the list if I can find it.

We should start an Occupy movement and get better looking dummies for the girls.

Well the answer to the OP is really simple.

They gave the male manikins hair.

And the female ones are strangely bald (probably cause they couldn't figure out how to do female hair in Styrofoam).

Therefore the female manikins do actually resemble aliens.

You really shouldn't call them Aliens, until after you marry one. Jim

Yes they do and it also takes away from the mask their showing! When I went looking for the Swift FX for Her, my first thought was "how could that be comfortable" because it looked like it was crammed into the nose on the dummy, but I'm not sure the dummy even has a nose, let alone hair!!! VERY alien!!

Howdy,

I agree. The main head we use, the male head, we have named "Fred." We actually did a lot of work on Fred so that he would show better in pictures without a glare and without distracting shadows or marks.

The female head is not up to the quality of Fred. We have been on the search for a better female head. We have tried many and this one is the best one so far, which doesn't say much for the female heads available. The runner up female head looked even more alien-ish.

If you have suggestions for a better female head, I would love to hear them.

I think you would have a beautiful head to model it on Carolyn. Who says it has to go on a mannequin head?

Would it help to put a wig on her?!! Or possibly ebaying...you never know what kind of dummies you'll find on there!!! My husband actually brought home a female mannequin head to use for Halloween. If you found one with the molded plastic hair you could spray paint her all white to match Fred...call her Fredricka??!!

The mannequin head does not matter so much as the way the mask fits it.
If the mask is the wrong size for the head, wearing position can be ambiguous.
Thank you for trying.
