What a terribly interesting thread, and I agree, you DO have to be smart to have OSA!

I'm an advocate for a large non profit that serves people with Autism (children and adults) Basically, I make sure they get what they need, cos if they don't, someone has to answer to ME I love what I do, and I'd do it for free, but I'm very glad I don't have to!

I'm a registered Civil Engineer and currently work as the Planning Director for a Township on the fringes of the Detroit metro area. I've spent much of my career designing or planning for sewer and water systems, subdivisions and large commercial sites. My definition of torture--a sleep deprived Friday afternoon writing technical specs or drafting ordinances.

Currently working at the local high school in the Assisted Studies program (we try to get kids to graduate!!)...before that I worked as an assistant manager of a non-profit program for the developmentally disabled. Worked in a factory in the very early years and a stint or two at the nursing home, but mostly I raised my kids til they were all teens before going back to college and earning my degree and rejoining the workforce!

U. S. Navy Submarine Service, diesel fleet boat, then twenty-five years with electric utility; lineman, hvac technician, sales consultant, large project engineer, district manager, division manager; next 4 years as VP of electronic metering company; then 14 years as a mechanical contractor and owner of a heating and air conditioning company; sold it in 2005 and went home; last 6 years, riding my HD, mowing when I want to and playing my custom dobro (resophonic slide guitar) in a band playing Old Country and Mountain music. Every night's a Saturday night and every day's a Sunday. Just a 35 year old locked up in this 70 year old body, but enjoying life more now than ever before.

C.P.A. But, my brain is so fried from this apnea that I am thinking about giving up accounting and becoming a dry cleaner. I won't need a new shingle - just a slight adjustment to the current one.

"CPA - Cleaning, Pressing, and Alterations".

And I lived in Tulsa, OK. I missed the thread about that - will see if I can find it.

Oh, yes, breathing tetrachloroethelyne all day long is going to be great for someone with breathing problems and a fried brain.
