Re: Ramp in cpap Mode
I wonder if there is a setting somewhere that is affecting ramp. Turned off by mistake. I have such a setting on my APAP. Different brand but it actually has more than one choice pertaining to ramp but if I have the main one turned off the others don't matter.
Look closely for all your choices pertaining to ramp in the clinical menu.
Do you have the clinician manual? If not forum member Uncle_Bob has it available in his signature.
Otherwise look close in your setup menu and make sure all choices seem to be proper.

Re: Ramp in cpap Mode
I am sorry, that was my only idea. Since I don't have your type of machine I can't play around to see if I can duplicate your problem.
How long have you had the machine? Have you considered taking it to DME to see if they have an answer? Have you tried the ramp in straight CPAP mode just to see if it works as it should there? Did you get the clinician manual to see if there are any hints in there?

Re: Ramp in cpap Mode
Ramp Settings for the S9:
Home Menu - patient ramp time selection
Setup (Clinician) Menu - max ramp time, start pressure
That's it as far as ramp settings go. But...
In CPAP mode EPR Inhale can be set to medium or fast. If you're using EPR and it's set to fast, that might be causing a fast ramp start, but I would expect it to drop according to your EPR setting once you take a breath.
And, although it probably doesn't have a role to play in this, EPR can also be set to ramp only. I'm only mentioning it to include everything ramp-related in the clinician's manual.
With your start and CPAP pressures not being very far apart, I wonder how easy it would be to tell them apart?
