Oh, I posted in the other thread. Windows 7 opens the SD Card and I can see the data, but the browser I was using (IE8) wasn't working. When I clicked on add files nothing would happen. So I switched to FireFox and voila! I have my data uploaded, now I need to know how to read it LOL

  • Data plot shows mode (CPAP/APAP) and pressure setting (or Amin or Amax if APAP).

I have tried Google Chrome and IE 8 and connot add files. I can enter machine ID and click "proceed". It then goes to the next page, then I click on "add files" it does nothing.

Sorry all for the problems with IE and chrome. I have fixed the problem with the upload files button on chrome. I think it will probably work on IE now as well, though I can't be sure until i get home to check.

No need to apologize. It's not like we are paying you for this....yet. I do appreciate your effort. That being said, I can now get to the point of selecting files and it gives me a fileset number but It does not seem to be uploading the files. If I choose "browse your upload reports" it says "no data found". I am using Chrome.

Thanks again.

Dai2dai, there does still seem to be some problems with the viewer and chrome. However, if you click the "Add files" button and then just choose three files from the same set (e.g. 00000138.001, 00000138.002, and 00000138.005) it should start the upload. You can repeat for each set of three you want. Then click the "browse uploaded files" and you should have them.

I think I will be able to work some more on it this weekend to fix these problems.

I got it. The three files I was trying to upload where not from the same set. Thank you again. Just a note: I am still using Chrome and it seems to be working fine.

Odd new development. I just noticed a file added to my card. It is within the P-Series folder, inside the folder named the same as the serial number of the machine. It is "e" (same level as the P0 file). Only twice has this folder had a file placed in it -- once earlier this week (Jan 18), and the second time today. It did not exist until the first file -- I download every day and it wasn't there the day before (Jan 17).

The files are 000.004 and 001.004

Great, more files to decode...

However, I've got some good news. I've decoded the 002 format enough to reliably retrieve the following event data from the card:
  • Periodic Breathing (PB)
  • Clear Airway Apnea (CA)
  • Obstructed Airway Apnea (OA)
  • Hypnopnea (H)
  • Respiratory Effort Related Arousal (RE)
  • Pressure Pulse (PP)
And thank you sleepy, the PDF you sent from the Encore Viewer was critical to decoding this info. Unfortunately, I need a few more. There are some events in 002 files that I still can't correlate (especially FL, VS, and leak data).

So if anyone can send me a PDF of the Encore Viewer report (especially those with some FL and VS events) along with the 001/002/005 files for that session, it would really help me!

cpapdork - I get as far as clicking "Add Files". That takes me to my "Documents" where my Encore Viewer 2 reports are stored in PDF format. I don't know what to put in "File Name" to add files.

I'm using IE. Is that still a problem browser? Thanks

Hawthorne,

Sorry! I didn't make myself clear. The web page is expecting you to upload your 001/002/005 files from your PR System One datacard. You'll need to put your datacard in your computer in order to get those files. When you click the Add Files button, i think you'll have to go to My Computer and find your Datacard and then open the files inside there (I don't have Windows, so I'm not exactly sure it's as easy as that. Maybe someone else can explain how that works if it's not clear).

However, The only way you can get me one of your PDF files, is just to email it to me. My email link is on the webpage.

Thanks again everyone for your help!

Hi Guys/Gals.
Thankyou for your work on decyphering the SD data records.. Way Cool!

I'm only just getting started with all this cpap stuff. Still waiting for my machine. and battling the brain fog. I am (well, was until OSA and major fatigue wiped me out) another big nerd (a Programmer, Linux guy, maths geek and electronics hacker) I seriously want to hit the ground running with this stuff.

I'm contemplating building an SD card -> USB interface, and writing some software to emulate a SD card on a block device on a PC - Which I figure I can then watch for changes as the machine writes the data to the "card". Sort of realtime monitoring if you will, not considering how far apart cache flushes happen.

I'm assuming most CPAP devices with SD implementations use the SPI interface, which should be relatively easy to emulate. With a bit of optical isolation to protect the machines of course. I wonder if MMC cards work? knowing that would confirm a few of my suspicions.

Has anyone considered a wiki/collection of sample data files/file format info for the different data-collecting machines so we can have an open multi-machine solution to play with?

I would love a nice open health management system with plugins for different cpap machines, oximeters, temp sensors, etc...

Edit: It appears this datacable device already exists.. Yahoo. Talk about a timesaver

Can anyone explain how the timing works for .002 files? Is each record a set interval apart? Does one of each event records bytes' convey timing info? Or am I supposed to deduce it from markers in the waveform files?

I have scanned the SD structure and parsed the event files, but the data is useless to me without a time domain.

I am planning on mixing in the PRS1 data events, ZEO and Oximetry data, and correlating some meaningful results.

So far I've got ZEO down pat. the PRS1 is hopefully almost done.. Just need my damn oximeter to arrive in the post so I can start playing with it..

I have a lot of .000 files on my machine's SD card, but no .001, .002, .003, .004, or .005 (etc).
They are all binary files about 44 bytes long.

Does anyone else have them? I assume that each of the files corresponds to one CPAP session, but I don't know for sure, and I have no idea how the files are structured. I would prefer to be able to read these files myself. I'm a fairly good python programmer, so any tips would be appreciated.

Here's the contents of one of them (via xxd)
P-Series/P00700970B18E/p0/0000000399.000

Code: Select all

0000000: 022c 0000 0002 008f 0100 0077 286a 4d16 .,.........w(jM.

0000020: 0003 5e56 0100 0001 0080 6177 ..^V......aw
If it helps, the properties.txt file says:

cpapdork, do you still need someone to send you files plus .pdf of Encore report for a session?

Would love it. I've been sick past couple weeks and haven't made any updates. However, I'll be taking some time off my regular job soon and will be able to put some more time into onkor then.

Thanks!
