Thanks Stormynights!! Good luck with your S9 as well!!Stormynights wrote:It just feels good to get a bargain. I am happy for you and very happy for me. I think this machine is going to be a great investment.prefer2breathe wrote:That's exactly how I got my S9 Autoset!! Off of craigslist. It was brand new, 0 hours, still had plastic and everything on it, humidifier and case included. The guy had an old machine that he really liked and wanted to stay with it, so he got rid of this one. At first I was very skeptical, but thought about it for a little bit, then decided to take the plunge and bite the bullet. I couldn't believe it. I called him up right away, scheduled a time to meet him and picked it up for......get this....$250!! I brought it home, and everything works perfectly. I've had it now for about a month and a half with zero problems. He also told me that if I had any problems, to go through him for warranty stuff. I'm not saying that this is the right thing to do, but for me, it works great because right now bills are extremely tight and my other machine wasn't working for me. I had another 4 years to go before insurance would kick in to buy a new one. Sometimes, one has to just take advantage of the moment.....

I just got my new S9 Autoset with 5Hi humidifier, Climate Control hose, carrying case, extra filters (6) AND a new in the bag Swift FX mask on Craig's List too! I only paid $400 and I am so happy!! I was given the S8II Elite with 4Hi humidifier and have complained to the DME since day one that the air was too cold going into my nose! I had been using the machine religiously but had to sleep with a heating pad on my head and I still work up with terrible headaches. They recommended turning up the humidification which just created rain-out. I'm in Northern WI and my bedroom is not going to get any warmer any time soon. I wrapped the tube, I put it under the covers, everything they recommended and still I was miserable but could see that I was getting better sleep but at what cost? I told them that I can't be the only person who is having this problem and they told me tough luck, go somewhere else, we have 22 of the S8's and are not interested in making any modifications to the humidifier and are never going to carry the S9 so forget it!!! I just happened to check out Craig's List and now I am thrilled! The first night I used it, I slept for 14 hours! No headache upon waking! My only problem is that I have awoken when the pressure hits 11 (my script is for 8 ) and it feels like the back of my throat has a tickle. Removing the mask turns the machine off, I have a drink of water and when I put the mask back on it starts up a 4 again and life is good. Maybe I can see if there is a fix for that but I am going to go to another DME and see if they will give me the support I need for this new machine because the folks at the first DME need to take a refresher course on customer service! I totally believe that you have to be your own health care advocate! The doctors don't like or appreciate the type of patient I am (I'm sure that PITA is all over my charts (Pain In The Azz)) but I don't care. I keep reminding them that they "practice" medicine and I see them for their medical opinions but that I make medical decisions about what happens to me!
Thanks for letting me get that off my chest!!!!
I love this forum! Lots of educated folks with good advice and support for beginners!

Hapy, welcome to the Craig's list cpap club. I didn't get the climate line hose. I may add that later. You got a wonderful deal for sure.

Re: 0 hours S9 Auto Set on Craigs list.
Ever since we bought an emergency replacement CPAP from Craigslist, my hubby checks the local Craigslist for CPAP supplies and pricing. He says the only xPAPs he sees with 0 hours are S9s, and wonders what the story is on that.
I'm curious to know how so many people are getting this same machine they apparently don't want. Is the S9 being pushed this hard? Or is is coincidence?
Opinions?

I was told that a certain number of machines have been donated to charity and some of these are sold.nosenabook wrote:Ever since we bought an emergency replacement CPAP from Craigslist, my hubby checks the local Craigslist for CPAP supplies and pricing.
