Anyone use Sinus Buster for Congestion ?
Anyone use Sinus Buster for Congestion ?
I have had congestion problems most of the time since starting cpap therapy even though I have tried various HH settings. I also have Sinus Issues that I deal with yearly( Currently on Nasacort nasal spray from Dr.) I have never resorted to the OTC nasal sprays due to the Rebound effect . I have been researching the Sinus Buster Spray and was wondering if anyone has tried it for congestion with any success ? The reviews sound promising but first hand trials are always better. it is made from Capsasium ( sp ) and ingredient found in Red Cayenne Peppers and I know that Hot Peppers open my Sinuses so I figure what the Heck--Might give it a shot ! I was just curious if anyone has tried the Sinus Buster Spray > Thank you.

Re: Anyone use Sinus Buster for Congestion ?
I have and use it. Mostly during the allergy season which for me is about 9 months of the year. Lets just say that when the spray hits your sinuses it gets your attention. It does work for me. I use it so that I don't get dependent on the OTC 12 hour sprays. It doesn't last as long as 12 hours - more like a couple of hours but it seems to work pretty well for me. I also use sinus irrigation with saline/baking soda mixtures. That makes a big difference since it is proactive. I used to have a lot of sinus infections but since using the saline/baking soda irrigation I haven't had a single infection.
I know some folks couldn't tolerate the pepper spray so if you happen to be one that could be an issue.
good luck
John

We use it continuously. My wife has bad sinus headaches and one shot will get rid of it.
Just don't use the spray right before you go to bed. There's some latent sniffling and draining that will take place and it might cause you a bit of trouble.
Note to self. If you decide to try the spray, do NOT spray directly after using a neti pot. The room will spin and there's a small chance you will soil yourself.

Friend of mine has a place that sells tear gas to the law enforcement community. Did you know that tear gas today is not a gas at all but rather a fine powder?
The only thing better than oxy spray (Afrin) is that stuff. All you have to do is unload a sealed skid of it and stack the boxes and your nose will run like a fire hydrant and I guarantee no congestion for at least 24 hours and no rebound.
We of the plugged nose crowd are cursed and there is no easy route to the magic bullet unfortunately. Next week I go into hospital for the day to get poked on every non-sensitive portion of my skin for allergens and allergic reaction to everything from dandelions to dog farts I am told. They have three pages of additional tests including a blood gasses test to get a baseline to play with (I have no idea why) and I am NOT looking forward to that, having had blood gases taken every few hours while I was on life support last summer. Had three arterial taps in place until they let me out of critical care... then they removed them. They tried to take blood gases from me ONCE after that and I hollered so loud that I made the guy in the bed down the hall who was catatonic roll out of bed (they gave him Viagara to cure the problem).
Nope. No cure for the common cold and no cure for our damn plugged noses. I have taken to wearing my full face mask EVERY night so that if I plug up during the night it does not add to my misery.

Fall colours. One of God's gifts. Life is fragile and short, savour every moment no matter what your problems may be. These stunning fall colours from my first outing after surviving a month on life support due to H1N1.

Actually, since I found a mask to fit and turned up the humidity control on the machine, I do not wake up congested anymore---coughing, yes, snotty, no.

Re: Anyone use Sinus Buster for Congestion ?
I got stuck at work once without spray and bad sinuses with headache. Found some crackers packages and taco bell FIRE sauce packets in a drawer in the break room. I put the fire sauce on a cracker and ate that...opened up those sinuses right away. I'm an Irish gal who cannot tolerate spice, so that works for me pretty well. Either that or my friend Debbie makes her homemade habanero salsa. I accused her of attempted murder after she first handed me a tortilla chip with that on it.....it had a nice fruity flavor....but OH what a kick!
Also, I do find my sinuses are so much better on cpap....really....had a sinus infection that cleared right up and i use Humidifier on 1 setting even. But just the moistness helps a lot I think.

Re: Anyone use Sinus Buster for Congestion ?
It burned like HELL and did not help me at all.
Re: Anyone use Sinus Buster for Congestion ?
Tired it...once....1 nostril. Burned the he## outta my nostril all the way up into my brain. I was quite the source of amusement dancing around cursing in a loud voice, my eye tearing, my nose running for at least 2 days .
Didn't have any congestion 'cause I couldn't feel anything...for several hrs!!! When I finally started feeling something again, every breath in that nostril felt like it was a blast of super-cold artic air freezing what was left of my poor tortured musosa. Very painful; my fractured spinal vertebra and my 2 broken leg bones in one ankle were both less painful than that stuff.
Be forewarned!

Muse. I was just googling online and seen where they now make a Sinus Buster in a mild form--Not quite so HOT so I might try that first.

I gotta go along with Muse and NewYork on this one. I tried it once and for about 30 minutes I thought I was going to die. I threw it as far as I could. I recommend snorting off a can of Pepper Spray instead. Can't be as bad.
