Reading Resmed Software Details
Have not logged on in a while due work so apologize if this already discussed. These are the questions I have:
1. Under Detailed- Events- There is a red mushroom thing and it has a number over it. Last night, there were only three; the first one had 19 over it and it was around 1:30 AM. What is this and what does it mean? And linked to this question,
the AHI (still under Detailed) blue line and its data values- what do these numbers mean?
I'm still trying to figure out if there is a way to know how many apneas or hypopnias total are happening each night regardless of the unit treating them. Is this knowable?
Basically, I'm curious to get the APAP's opinion (second opinion of sorts) on how accurate the original sleep study was.
Thanks in advance and wish everyone a happy holiday in States or nice weekend elsewhere.

Re: Reading Resmed Software Details
Each red bar with a number on top represents an apnea. The number is the length of the apnea in seconds.
Each blue square on the same graph represents an hypopnea.
AHI (Apnea Hypopnea Index) is the number of apneas plus the number of hypopneas per hour. The AHI graph is a running total of apneas and hypopneas during each hour. It starts at zero each hour, and the total at the end of the hour is the AHI for that hour. The statistics page will show you the AHI over the whole night.
And now I'll go back to hanging red, white, and blue bunting.

Great, thank you. Part I'm still not clear on is are the apneas reported those that are treated correctly or total regardless of if they are treated (stopped) correctly?
Example- if my AHI says 2.0 and, for sake of clarity, all are Apneas, does this mean 2.0 were NOT treated (stopped) or that 2.0 apneas occured in total, regardless of if they were treated.
Meaning- does the AHI, as reported by the machine/software mean what "got by" the unit and were not treated or just the number that occured that night and may or may not have been treated?
I'll keep trying if my questions not clear. Ooops, fireworks starting! Very cool!

Re: Reading Resmed Software Details
The events reported are ones that actually happened. The machine has now way of detecting events that it prevented from occurring.
Ideally (but extremely infrequently) AHI should be 0, and no events should appear on the graph.

I know that this is an old topic, but better than starting a new one. If I'm reading what is posted in here, the stuff in the report that I'm posting isn't good. Could someone please confirm this please.

Oh, this is with the Quattro FX. Don't know how I got the leaks to stop.

Re: Reading Resmed Software Details
David, the leak is good for the approx 1 hour of the report. No bumps at all.
Time frame approx 1500 to 1610, did you realize this?
Of course lots of events, snores for about 30 minutes between 1520 and 1530
FLow is all over the place too but I don't understand Flow..
What does the overall night look like or was this a short night???

Thanks Uncle Bob. Guess that confirms the Quattro FX isn't good for me. Oh well.Uncle_Bob wrote:Confirmeddrj130 wrote:I know that this is an old topic, but better than starting a new one. Re: Reading Resmed Software Details
Actually I am commenting on the report not being good becuase of all the events you are having, your leak line is flat so the mask fit is good (for that duration)drj130 wrote:Thanks Uncle Bob. What were you titrated at?
It looks like the APAP is constantly maxed out at 11cm, i think you need to open her up a bit. I'd up the maximum pressure to 15cm or more to see if it can take care of all those events.

That was after pulling a 24 hour shift. that was a short night/day so that is all the data I have for that day.

Re: Reading Resmed Software Details
Understood Uncle Bob. I was titrated at 11. The machine is set between 8.5 and 11.5. or there about.Uncle_Bob wrote:Actually I am commenting on the report not being good becuase of all the events you are having, your leak line is flat so the mask fit is good (for that duration)drj130 wrote:Thanks Uncle Bob. If the mask was a good fit, why would I be having all those obstructions? Doesn't make sense to me.

Re: Reading Resmed Software Details
Off hand I would say pressure minimum and max is too low, but really one hour after pulling a 24 hour shift is not a good gauge to go by.drj130 wrote:I was titrated at 11. The machine is set between 8.5 and 11.5. or there about.

If it were me I would have the minimum more at 9 or 10 and max at 13 and see where things went.
The leak line is perfect for the hour though.

I'll give it a shot tonight and see what happens and once I get a chance and post it in this topic.Pugsy wrote:Off hand I would say pressure minimum and max is too low, but really one hour after pulling a 24 hour shift is not a good gauge to go by.drj130 wrote:I was titrated at 11. Re: Reading Resmed Software Details
I have had so many of the same questions about the detailed data...so when the little red signs say 13 or 43 or whatever it means I did not breathe for that many seconds???????
I have stuck to the summary and looked at the A I and at the obstructives....I think Dream Diver is going to make a video about reading the detailed info
