Well the first night under my belt I slept all night it was like wearing nothing at all and now noise like the swift II. Even my wife said how quit it was. I thing this will be my number one mask.

I agree with BIGK-----the SWIFT LT has it's vents straight out which is kind of annoying to my hubby if I am facing him. I don't know why the swift has this stupid design either----they must think we all sleep alone!!!!. LOL!

I have been using the swift fx for 2 mos now. I got it when it first came out. I love it! I find mine as very stable with rare leakage:only if my pressure goes up high ie: 11cm h2o when the nasal cushion is getting old.
My only consistent problem is that sometimes, when putting it on in the dark, the armatures where the sleeves are, get twisted. When this happens , it hurts because it's a rigid plastic. I am now establishing tactile/ braille like cues so I can untwist without turning on the light and waking my husband. Otherwise , it's my 6th mask in 2 years of CPAP use and I like it the very best.
Another problem: my nasal cushion is wearing out after 2 mos and I'm waiting for my medical provider to get the parts for the fx in.

But all of these problems are fixable. I think I have an ideal mask for me. I can even sleep on my stomach with it on!
To help all of my masks fit: I put my hair in a pony tail. And I put Ayr gel in my nose some nights. I had to pull the the plastic "tie wrap" like thing for the top of the head to its maximum.
To anyone who is thinking about NOT using their CPAP machines: I am in the medical profession. I have had so many of my female patients, who were widowed through a spousal's fatal heart attack in their 30s and 40s, tell me that their husbands snored and they "would count the seconds before they started breathing again" . The human body has many ways of telling us we are not getting oxygen because we have an untreated sleep apnea....
I am so impressed by the evolution of CPAP masks. I feel that the swift fx is positive example.

I have a switft FX. My big concern is I hear (and feel) alot of air coming out of the bottom of vent. It sounds like a leak but both masks have this. I feel around my nose and there is no air leakage ...its only coming from the vent.

Hi dacker

Yes... I noticed it too... The FX has about double the amount of exhaust air than does the Swift LT. The LT is quieter too. There are many rave reports of the FX and it certainly has some advantages... but, it doesn't work for me.

BTW: While the LT is better in many ways... I'm not ready for pillows yet I guess. Back to Nasal mask... I'm trying out the Mirage SoftGel.

I love my FX. I don't even mind I paid full price to get it $150.00. I would agree with the other post keep it as loose as possible and clean.

I've been using the Headrest (or Aura--it's had lots of names) and I like it a lot but am going to try the Swift FX tonight. For those of you using the FX, how do you manage the hose? With the Headrest, the hose goes right up over my head, through a loop attached to the head of my bed, down across the nightstand where it hooks into the machine. The hose is completely out of my way when I sleep, even when I turn over. I tried hooking up the FX a few minutes ago and can't figure out what to do with the hose. Does it have to lay beside you or under the covers?

The good news about the mini hose: its soft, and very pliable so you can get it out of the way mostly... but there is no hose management system... just like most masks.

I just moved it around during the night. The real issue is all the air that comes from the exhaust at the angle piece. When you move the hose around... you also move the air blast.

Dear Djdixie,

Sometimes I put the long hose behind me - at the very tippy top of my pillow and then the shorter hose is sort of to the side of me and out of the way while I am sleeping. Sometimes I have it all under my blanket - just whatever I feel like. I love the Swift FX because it is so light and easy to breathe with for me. I can watch tv and read and fall asleep with it on. It's really quiet too (except if the exhale air points directly down to my blanket and then I have to reposition the hose a little).

Regards,

Jersey Girl

YAY!!! Got my new Swift FX today!! I just ordered it last week from Apria so it came faster than I had expected. I noticed that it came with FIVE nasal pillows. 2 Large, 2 Small and 1 Medium--thought that was wierd. The medium was on the headset and the others are in the individual bags.

I am going to start out tonight with the small since I wear a small in the Swift LT for her. I might be using the great pillow exchange to trade the larges for smalls or mediums once i see which one works better for me. It does seem like a really nice light weight mask for me --I am excited to try it tonite!! YAY! Wish me luck!!!

Carrie

Dear Carrie,

Wow! You just hit the lottery of the Swift FX! This fit pack normally comes with a medium attached and only 1 large and 1 small. So, you received extras!

Let me know how you like it. I am curious to see how you feel it compares to the Swift LT for Her.

Good Luck tonight and sweet dreams!

Love,

Jersey Girl

Thanks Jersey Girl!! The Swift LT for her has been my very favorite mask for over a year now. In fact I still have a brand new one still unopened in the bag for "just in case" LOL! I guess I am a hoarder!! I do really need to clean out my mask collection that is in my linen closet and maybe donate them to people with no insurance.

I think the head gear is really nice and light---It seems pretty well made and switching the nasal pillows was a little tricky but seems to be a pretty tight seal. I am anxious to get to bed tonight --LOL!! I will report back tomorrow!!

You have to yell louder than that... if you're that far away...

My first night with the Swift FX didn't go too well. I'm a side sleeper and evidently burrow my face down into the pillow which makes the vent blow into the fabric--noisey!! When that air wasn't hitting the pillow, the mask was wonderfully quiet--so much quieter than my headrest. The straps fall across the most prominent part of my checkbones which is bearing the weight of my head and that's fairly uncomfortable, which of course makes it hard to relax and go to sleep. Is that where they fall on everyone? When I just couldn't get comfortable around 1:30 I got up, looked in the mirror and had a perfect outline of the pillows/straps connection deeply indented on BOTH sides of my nose. The strap covers I guess were too far up to pad that part, so I'll slid those down tonight. Do you veterans with this mask not have trouble with the air blowing into the pillow? how about the checkbone pressure? the face marks? Thanks for any help!!
