Assistance Please Res Scan 3.7
So I just got my card reader today and have just finished loading the software and card reader....
Now if I understand correctly, I just insert the card into my S8 Autoset II and it will copy info to the card.
Then insert the card into the reader and ?????????????????????
So what do I do to start the software, is there a file that needs filed out or does it just automatiaclly start taking the info and building the read outs????
If there is a post on this, I couldn't find it, but my searching skills might not be the best

Did you put the card into the reader the right way up. The card has to be turned over after removing it from the blower.
Machine: Resmed Platinum II Autoscore (probably equivalent to Elite II)
Humidifier: H4i
Mask: Activa LT mask

Lou, you will need at least an associate degree from Putz University to learn to run the software.Lou Cypher wrote: So what do I do to start the software, is there a file that needs filed out or does it just automatiaclly start taking the info and building the read outs????
You need to start clicking on stuff.....and putz with it.
Eventually you will figure out how to use it.
Having been in the computer field for 20+ years, I have an advanced Doctorate degree
from Putz University. Putzing w/stuff is how I learn most things.
Also, on the upper menu bar, click on help and there is....help.
All the basics to get you going.
That should get you in deep enough to get your feet wet.....
or you'll be neck deep in the swamp....w/gators circling.
Have fun.

I just didn't know if I needed to start a file for my info or just stick in and let it run something.
Last silly question, I have seen a print out of some numbers here, might have been yours I think...
How do I know what is good, bad , or ugly ??
is there a chart in the software someplace that gives an explanation of what is high etc etc???
While waiting for your replay I will insert my card and see what happens.....
Of this all blows up and the Magic Blue Smoke if let out of my machine, I will blame you completely and revoke your diploma from Putz U !!

Lou, slow down.
Go up to the upper menu bar and click on Help.
Click on Help again.
Then choose Quick Start.
That will help you get your patient profile set up and then you can move on from there.
All the other things you will need to learn.
Patient files
Downloading data
Review data.
You can't revoke my degree......I'm tenured.

OKLou Cypher wrote: what about my numbers on that report. ???
these stats are for 9/29 to 10/3
Machine setup:
you're running in auto mode 8-20cm EPR fulltime set on 3
Compliance data:
total hours used 22
median daily use 7:24
Efficacy data:
Apnea=0.7
Hypopnea=10.9
AHI=11.6
% time in apnea .2 ok could be 0
Leak was 10.8 that's ok could be better
Pressure
median 9.6cm
95th percentile(most of the time) 11.6cm
max. 13cm
If it were me....I would start kicking the min. pressure up .2cm for a few days at a time
and those H numbers should start coming down.
I would guess that you need to be living at a min. pressure of ~11cm
You're on the road now. I'm excited for you.
CONGRATULATIONS!!!

Re: Assistance Please Res Scan 3.7
I can't read the numbers very easily. Very small.... Next time make sure your screen shot is a bit easier to read.Lou Cypher wrote:what about my numbers on that report
Look at these numbers. These relate to effectiveness of your therapy. I think these are what are shown.
AI 0.7
HI 10.9
AHI 11.6
Leak 10.8 L/min max was 45 probably had a big leak, not a big deal
Remember leak shown is real leak in excess of what the ResMed factors in.
Overall the only thing I would watch if it were me would be the HI numbers and try to get the leak rate down a little more. The Apnea Index of 0.7 is ideal.
There isn't a gold standard to compare these numbers to. Everyone is different and your machine tends to report the HI (hypopneas) a little more aggressively than say my machine does so don't try to compare your numbers to someone else with a different machine. It will drive you nuts.
The overall general consensus is that an overall AHI of less than 5 is considered to be having very effective treatment. Some people just have more Hypopneas. You seem to be one of those. You may need a bit of work in that area but I wouldn't obsess over it. Give it some time. Watch the leak. Educate yourself on ResMed and Hypopneas so that you are comfortable with what your machine shows.
You seem to be feeling quite an improvement. That is good and how you feel should always be a part of the picture. If your leak comes down a bit and your HI does not, you might want to consider increasing the minimum pressure just a wee bit to see if it will respond a little better to those Hypopneas. Also look at the graphs, if those hypopneas occurred during a rather large leak I wouldn't worry so much about them. Gotta look at the whole thing. Keep looking and learning, you will get a handle on it all real quick.

Re: Assistance Please Res Scan 3.7
Lou, this is the summary report. See if you can figure out how to review the detail report for a day. This is where it gets really cool and you can see if your pressure changes in response to your apneas. I'm a real geeky guy and this stuff gets me all excited, even as a newbie.
I like Carbonman's suggestion. From my limited experience, I'd agree that an increase in minimal pressure might be helpful. But remember, you're in charge. You've got the power. Now with the software, you're totally in control. Congratulations. Your well on the journey.

Re: Assistance Please Res Scan 3.7
ok Thanks...
Now the leaks are from the mask, Correct?
If so I may have screwed up but starting the machine an then putting on the mask........
"Educate yourself on ResMed and Hypopneas "
How do I go about that ? Is there info here or just search the net , I don't let my DME will be much help there... They told me not to worry about the card unless I was having problems with the machine .... BLEH..
