Started my CPAP life on June 5 of this year and have not missed a night ( or my naps) using my machine. I can not believe how much different my sleep is compared to the previous years of not having one. My wife also loves the snoreless nights too!

If you are feeling as though the machine is working against you, maybe your settings need to be adjusted. Can you give us more detail about your settings and how they make you feel? Do you have the software to see how you are doing each night? There aren't very many of us who have this machine, but there are people here who understand how they work and will be able to help you get better treatment. The Bipap Auto SV is an awesome machine, but the prescribing doctors don't all know how to set it up. Compliance is especially important if you have a condition that requires an SV.

3 years, 100% compliant. Totally unsuccessful the first year, then I found this forum and got my pressure adjusted, been successful ever since.

I'm getting ready for my fifth night! I've kept the mask on all night so far. Not even close to success, though -- headache first two nights then "no headache but no restful sleep either" the past two nights. I'll keep it up, though, and first thing in the morning I'm seeing my dr. to get him to change my prescription to a machine that produces some useful data.

I got xpap (auto) on June 24 and have been 100% compliant and successful. I feel pretty lucky how well I have adapted. I think the "auto" machine and being able to wear nasal pillows has made the whole process more comfortable and therefore easier. This web site has been extremely helpful. Thanks.

Started cpap therapy March 2007. Been 100% compliant. Therapy is successful in many respects, including the data. I don't wake my with a pounding heart, or short of breath, or with a headache. And I do feel better when I wake up than I used to. BUT I still do not wake up feeling good, and I'm still sleepy and tired during the day, to some extent. I've had two overnight pulse/ox things done and they were great. One of these days I might go back and get another sleep study done, but I'm just living with it now. I know my health is better, so I stick with the machine every night even though I never have felt the refreshing, wonderful difference so many people do.

10+ years for me. I gave myself credit for 100% compliant, even though I missed a few (less than half a dozen) nights over the years due to power failure and insurmountable congestion (bad head cold + no backup FFM).

With the rigid parameters of the poll, you are less than 100% compliant.....reason doesn't matter in this particular poll <wink>

On a personal note, nice work on taking care of yourself. Ten years is quite a trend!!

Warm regards,

Two YEARS this month for me, WOW it has been a rough 2 years but at least i'm still here amongst us...
I did have nasal & turbinate surgery (Nov.2007), just 3 months into therapy so couldn't use the mask much due to a very sore nose but I went ahead and voted 100% compliant because the poll didn't give a 70%, 80%, or even a 90% but that's ok, i'll just say I have been 90 to 95% compliant...
Great post!!!

3.5 yrs, 100 percent compliance. (3.5 yrs of a measurably improved life.)

I came down with a type A flu the day I picked up my machine, so the first few weeks were especially interesting (but I credit the immune enhancement from the cpap for helping me overcome the flu). I stayed up quite late one evening waiting for the power to come back on, but it eventually returned (and I ordered a back-up batt the next day).

There have been quite a few polls lately, which is fine, but I typically skip them. This poll presents a useful and interesting question.

Well Captain ... since you find it interesting ... I'll contribute.

99.999% compliance ... I missed my third night after I started due to raw irritated nares but got manly and started right back up on the 4th night and have been 100% compliant ever since (3+ years now).

Nah, you are 100% sir (let's call it a significant figures thing.)

BTW, how goes the low carb diet?

4 and half, -- I put 5-6 which felt a bit less misleading than 3-4.... 100% compliance, thought yes, I too had to give my painful nostrils a break in the beginning, and there was the night the machine broke, and the night I couldn't find my house key...

Thank you sir for making me 100%

Still doing low carb though I now prefer to call it paleolithic. I tweak a little here and a little there. I lose a few lbs then plateau for a while then lose a few more then plateau again then gain a few and lose them again and plateau again and so on ... at least the trend is alway going in the right direction though. So weight loss is slow going but steady.
