Unfortunately my length of sleep fluctuates based on various aches and pains, not to mention circadian rhythm issues that have plagued almost my entire family. Then , when my body isn't in the midst of any of that, it wants to pay down sleep debt to the tune of nine or more hours. Thank goodness my SDB seems well addressed!
I tried to give you enough loopholes. For one thing, the question in the title of the thread doesn't quite match the question of the poll. For another, how can someone be silly enough to ask for an estimate of an average then put "every night" in the poll question? Was I drunk? Not to mention that the question of the poll above the selections asks what "would you say that you get . . . ," so that is license to just make someting up, anyway, isn't it? Who designed this stupid poll? Didn't he think it through, first?!!

Not a bad bell curve for less than 100, though.

Hey, have him sign up on the board and vote! He's welcome. Though you might want to have him do that before he goes to bed tonight, just in case.

Maybe he'll stumble on a real thread that changes his life!

My mind wants to take things literally and also wants to over analyze everything so of course a poll worded as "loophole-y" as yours, basically short circuits my brain after just one reading...and then I keep reading it over and over, making things even worse. I know I am my own worst enemy...more often than not I confuse myself so much I give up trying to think.

I, myself, have found that thinking is highly overrated. That is why, in most polls, I figure I'm safe just choosing the middle choice, since that's the one the poll-taker subconciously wants you to choose anyway.

That will not work with my next poll, though, since, although I don't yet know what the question will be, the choices will be "true" and "false" and will allow both choices.

I love polls! Polls are fun!!

Okay... with Jeff's generous loopholes in mind I just voted for 8 1/2 hours.

Jeff, do you by any chance do taxes?

Heck, I don't even file a return most years!

Funny, but those tax-form instructions always made perfect sense to me, though.

Mar, I find that post of yours highly entertaining. Anyone who knows herself that well is doing all right in this world, I say.

Thanks Jeff I ride my horses long distance (50+ miles in a day) and I never get lonely because I am with my horse and with my "mind" which is very busy "thinking stuff". I do practice paying attention to my horse since I don't want him to think I have strayed mentally...so I will talk to him as I am mentally processing things. Then after I have twisted my mind in knots, we get to have quiet time, to allow all the mental crud to evaporate. I probably need to stop telling you this because a view into my mind is more than most folks need to know.

Fifty miles would be about enough to make my BUTT evaporate!

Quiet time? I'll have to try that.

Stick around on this board. Several horse people here. And your style fits in just fine.

Mar, I enjoyed your description, but it just makes me wish I had a horse and 50 miles of open range or trail. As it stands I'd sneeze to high heaven if I got near a horse.

We now live on and own 5 acres on a 50,000 ranch and I get to ride the ranch. I'm in heaven, I assure you.

I don't sleep much anymore. 5.5 -6 hrs. On cpap, I averaged 4.02 hrs since August, 08.
