Hello and an Introduction

Post by tossandturn » Sat Mar 21, 2009 6:54 am

I've been lurking here since mid December, and have absorbed and inhaled all this wonderful, priceless wealth of information here. thank you all SO MUCH for this forum - what would I have done without you??? I was diagnosed with sleep apnea after my first study, end of December. Second study in January, Cpap machine in February. I chose the nasal pillows first with my Swift LT for her. Love it!!! Been using the neti pot, trying to keep my nasal passages clear (not an easy task), and after a suggestion on this site, asked about replacement pillows and a new FFM this week. Slept in my new Mirage Quattro last night. This is going to take some getting used to, but still not as bad as the mask they superglued on me at that last sleep study. It was soooo dang tight!!! Anyway, just wanted to say hi, see you in here or on chat. Thank you for edumacating me on this sleep apnea stuff, (I secretly laughed yesterday when the DME gal said, "well, you know what you are doing, you have really informed yourself about all this, I can tell") you guys/gals are the best!!! Can't wait for my return visit with sleep doc in April (btw, am a nurse, already have a great relationship with him, see him often on my unit at the hospital).

Well, WELCOME and glad to see you've opted to "come out of the closet" and introduce yourself and share your Dxing experience and subsequent therapy results w/us!! And CONGRATULATIONS on getting such a good CPAP right from the get-go! If only all newbies could be so fortunate!!

Okay, I just have to ask...what is the difference between a Swift LT and a Swift LT for Her? I'm still new at this and learning, so bear with me. I have a Swift LT, but I didn't know there was a different one for "her" aka "me".

"For Her" comes with a set of extra small nasal pillows. Other than that, the Swift LT and Swift LT "For Her" are apparently the same. Headgear is same size, just a different color.

Welcome aboard.
If you are having such good luck with the swift, what are you reasons for wanting a full face mask? Are you just looking for a backup?

Hi, Gerry, sorry so long to reply. I've been playing with a new cell phone. Yes, I wanted a mask for when I was too stopped up. Going back to the nasal pillows tonight, my numbers are up, and I keep waking up when my mask starts to leak.
