Explore Encore Pro database
Explore Encore Pro database
Would anyone be willing to describe a method for accessing the Encore Pro database via Access or something similar? I know it's probably kind of messy and all, but I'd like to poke around. Mainly for curiosity's sake. I'm pretty decent with computers, but not a pro. I can't seem to figure it out.
Thanks in advance for any help.

Re: Explore Encore Pro database
It is quite involved for a first timer at these things. If you have manually installed SQL, set up ODBC connections and are a serious user of Access, PM me and I'll try to give you some steps to try and get you connected.
For folks new to all that, please understand you can easily screw stuff up and wish you hadn't tried it. I'm not open posting it because I don't want to start something and be defending myself all day.
So you know, once you have all the links set up and access the data, you still have a lot of work to do before making sense of it. I started and "paused" about half way through asking myself why am I doing this? My treatment is working so why should I care about how many seconds this happened or the correlation between things. It's one of those things where you have to ask yourself what are you going to do differently once you get the information.

It's going to be okay in the end; if it's not okay, it's not the end.

Re: Explore Encore Pro database
Happened to have been tinkering in the db in the last few days to get encore pro working. Be aware--there are about 120 tables. Many look obviously irrelevant, but there isn't one called "PatientDataInHere" either. Enjoy
Re: Explore Encore Pro database
As someone said before... Using access could be dangerous if people doesn't know well what they are doing (probably not your case)... it is more safe to use Excel ... just must create the right connector (ODBC) and you can query any table.raymart43 wrote:Would anyone be willing to describe a method for accessing the Encore Pro database via Access or something similar? I get all my treatment from the Encore Pro program, I don't need a dartboard and a dark room. Jim

Same here. I looked in there and went EeeeeWWW.....no thanks......I'm good with what I'm seeing in my reports. At some point, the data becomes Ho-Hum.Mikosiko wrote:kind of deja vu.... you are talking like my own mindOldLincoln wrote:........ I guess I'd just like to look in there and do the same thing for myself. I don't really expect to improve my treatment by doing this, just for the fun of taking it apart.

If you just want to look at data, you could install MSSQL server management express free from our friends at Microsoft. (Back up your hard drive first.) Or if you install it on a different box, you can access your Encore Pro database from another computer on your network.
I'd make a copy of the entire DB and just play with the your new 'development' copy. That way, you won't mess up your existing database.
I'd be more interested in knowing the exact steps used to transfer the data from the card to the database. If you get that figured out, let me know.

Have you tried to go to the Add/Remove Programs in the Control Panel and uninstall it from there?Babette wrote:Well, now that I have all the best computer geeks here corralled in one thread... Yeah, I've got tons of "work" tables in my DB's that wouldn't make any sense at all to the end user...morezees wrote:Happened to have been tinkering in the db in the last few days to get encore pro working. That too but on mine there was an uninstall right in the Office folder.Wulfman wrote:Have you tried to go to the Add/Remove Programs in the Control Panel and uninstall it from there?
So it's Start > Programs > MS Office > Uninstall
Yea those "Trial" programs will own your PC until you pay the ransom amount requested or uninstall it.
