Finally and "hopefully" I have a dme delivering my cpap tomorrow! I requeted either the respironics pro/c-flex or the s8 elite II/epr. I'm assuming these are the only two machines who offer c-flex??

When I asked the girl who took my order if it will be either of these machines, she said, she didn't know but thinks it's the the respironics(crossing fingers).

I guess I'll know when it arrives! She also told me humana will cover this months rental and then Aetna will take over in January, "no problem" she said....I'm really hoping this works.

Fingers are crossed for you!

Double check it is the M Series Pro model .. and not the M Series Plus model.
(The Plus only gives the compliance data, the Pro gives you all data .. via the data card and software.)

Hang in there!

The new dme delivered my new cpap..it's the respironics m-series "plus"...I know the pro was recommended but I'm happy it's a c-flex and I can't wait to use it tonight.(Remstar Plus M Series Model 1022334)

The mask is not the swift mirage, it's a Puritan Bennett Breeze Sleepgear....

The plus is not data capable, correct? only pro? Well, if it helps me sleep, does it matter?

You are correct, the M Series Plus is the "basic" model which only shows compliance data. I started with that machine.

THANK YOU!

Another question? Do dme's usually rent out "used" or brand new cpap machines? I ask because this machine has a HUGE ugly sticker on the front that says "rented equipment." I'm "assuming" it's a used machine, it has a couple of scuff marks I did not notice.

As you know my current insurance Humana is paying for rental until the end of the month, then Aetna will kick in...should I request the pro? a newer machine?

The routinely rent out used machines. They thoroughly clean and disinfect the machines prior to your use though. THe mask and tubing should be new.

Make sure that you get at least the PRO model... the PLUS won't be of any help if you have problems.

I put in the request for that machine or the s8 elite II. but I received a plus instead, she said I really don't need data recording because my levels are not that bad.

Do you think I should call to make the switch to the pro?

I would push for the upgrade when you go from the "rental" to the "purchase". Your insurance will be paying for the machine, it should be new, and the code is the same regardless if they give you the basic model or the next model up. I have appreciated having the data recording.

It is also easier to troubleshoot any problems with your therapy, it does take some time to get your therapy straightened out, and the more information the better

Best of luck

Hi all

Sorry for kind of hijacking this thread!!

Two days ago I purchased a "used but new" Plus Series M. It is true that it does not have data capability. But...being the curious one I took off a few covers on the unit and on the left side of the back there does seem to be some kind of open electrical "port" under the cover. I believe that is where the card slot goes. Can the data capability be added by purchasing the data unit? I got a good deal on the Plus so adding the data unit might not be a bad deal for me.

Just adding the card slot won't give you the data that you need.

All that a Plus can give you is compliance hours.
