How To Make A Toxic Poster Disappear

Post by plr66 » Fri Nov 28, 2008 3:15 pm

What a great discovery. I've just found that you can remove and block all posts of an individual, by going to User Control Panel, then the tab called "Friends/Foes"--hit the tab for "Managing Foes," and type in the user name of that special someone. Click "Yes I'm Sure" in the final box, and it's done. If a PM arrives from this individual, you can simply delete without ever reading it. Poof!--They're completely gone!!
I encourage all to do this rather than feed the sickness with responses of any kind. Who needs abuse from anyone such as this?
DeVilbiss IntelliPap Std Plus with Smartflex; Transcend miniCPAP & Everest2 w/humidifier & batt for travel. UltraMirage FFM; PadACheeks; PaPillow. Using straight CPAP at 13.0/passover humidifier. AHI consistently < 1.5. Began CPAP 9/4/08.

Yes, and make sure that you are aware that opinions from newbies are not welcome here:
jnk wrote:That's cool. But be forewarned that some of the long-time posters can be a little protective of the format, and rightfully so. A lot of group-think went into how it landed.

As for me, I'm not gonna suggest any changes till I've been here a year or two. Even then, I fully expect to get chewed out for suggesting it.

So, again, I applaud the thought. I'm just saying "duck" as a heads-up. I think I saw some eggs and tomatoes being passed around in the front row, and there's no chicken-wire in front of this stage!

yep it works great, I added ozij to mine and now well I no longer have to deal with her PIA targeted BS, now if she would only add me to her foe list we can completely avoid each other which would be fantastic in my eyes.

Thanks to your posting of instructions, she should be able to figure out how to do that on her own, well it is hoped she can anyway.

SnoreDog!!! SHAME on you! Keep this up and we're gonna have to trade you in on a goat and shoot the goat. We don't need to know who you are putting on your "S" list.

No, no, Slinky! Don't hurt the goat! I like goats. Goats always get the blame. . . .

Seriously, though (though I am serious about goats) . . . I've spent much of the day washing dishes, laundering diapers (yes, real cloth diapers), getting outbid in an auction for a cool BiLevel machine, changing the oil in our '97 VW, and cleaning up a shed, and when I get back to the forum, I see all manner of craziness has broken out.

Maybe it has something to do with the conjunction of Venus, Jupiter, and the Moon. Or the day after Thanksgiving. Or the darker goings-on in the world.

Maybe some strange alien civilization or the CIA has begun interfering with some folks' titration.

I don't even know what the acronym PIA stands for. (I even checked on Wikipedia; I don't think it's any of the things listed there, though.)

Sigh.

Anyway, I hope things get back to normal soon. There's much to be said for the ceremony of innocence. . . .

Which is especially easy here, given the completely inscrutable stance of the admins to what is and isn't spamming!

Spamming isn't considered a post someone doesn't agree with so when the majority of people who click to report spam because someone is abusive or they don't like the post they get that privledge taken away

What constitutes a majority?

Here it only takes one person to report a post as spam to have it moved to be "examined". It doesn't take more. That doesn't sound like a majority of those people reading posts here to me.

I meant to say that "MOST" people appear to think the report spam button is the same as a report post button as seen on other forums. The report spam button is for reporting something like payday loan advertisements being posted. It is not a report post because I don't like it button.

Edit - Sorry Jules - (negative remarks deleted) I woke up on the wrong side of the AHI chart so to say and guess lookin' for a fight. I guess you could "make me disappear".
