Music Man,

I'm sorry you are feeling mocked and manipulated. Image

I want to tell you that I do not experience the forum the way you do. I enjoy this forum because it is pretty free of rules as compared to others I've been part of. I enjoy the freewheeling feeling here. A sense of humor is okay here. Off topic posts are just fine, as long as you mark them as such. I've never felt mocked or censured. People here have only tried to help. Yes, people are sometimes testy but that's human nature. And the text nature of the forum sometimes makes it harder to assess intent. That's why I make fairly heavy use of emoticons. Image

I think you are reading too much into Jnk's comments. Like most of us, I'm sure this is based on your previous experiences and, in your case, they were bad for you. Viewed through your personal filters, you see his comments as mocking and manipulative...as like those coming from the members or leaders of the church/cult you were part of before.

Please see if you can take a step back, breathe, and try to look at this with a more objective eye. Image I have not seen anything in response to your posts that appears mocking or manipulative to me.

Hang in there. Image We're all in this together. Image

Dude -- you need to chill and knock that chip off your shoulder......
You obviously think very highly of yourself and your opinions, and all opinions are welcome here, I've seen no mocking or degrading of an opinion here - just statements of past experiences - that the same suggestion has been made here numerous times, intelligently discussed, and dismissed, based on those discussions, by the forum admins who are here to support the membership and do one hell of a great job. Next time the subject comes up for discussion, I would suggest you participate and put in your opinions, comments, and reasoning - then accept the conclusions without name calling or degrading references..... I've only seen demeaning comments come from you....Your comments to jnk are wholly uncalled for!!!!!!!!

As the Wulfman said, it's a free form for a reason. Segregated forums promote skipped/missed education - for the most part people don't peruse ALL subject matters or only peruse the same ones over and over, missing valuable information. I've learned immense amounts of information here that I wouldn't have in a segregated forum (I probably wouldn't have stayed in a segregated forum as it's value would be diminished)....

Wars arise from a failure to understand one another's humanness. Instead of summit meetings, why not have families meet for a picnic and get to know each other while the children play together?

You made it very clear that you represented the people who rule this forum. You also made it very clear that my opinions were not allowed, or that I would be mocked and ridiculed with eggs and tomatoes.

Let me make this real clear: Take your CPAP hose, shove it up your ass, and turn the pressure on 15.

So much for your bossy ass little man.

Your so called "interpretation skills" also leave a lot to be desired and IMHO it's indicative of paranoid ignorance, and lack of tolerance of alternative viewpoints.....That's not what this forum is all about.....
Who cooked your goose you little coward? You can shove your "paranoid ignorance" up your ass. Try going back to school and getting an education.

You need to give it a rest. Keep your mouth and your opinion to yourself or you will receive eggs and tomatoes.

Hey Goose - did you not even bother to read any of this. Junk was the person WHO TOLD ME that he was INTOLERANT OF MY VIEWS and that I would get "eggs and tomatoes" if I expressed them.

Don't stick your nose in when you don't have a clue as to what is even being discussed.

Okay, let me be more blunt this time. Image Yes, I'm hitting you over the head with this post.... And yes, I'm smiling here...my intent is not to be funny with this smiley -- I *am* being serious here.

Music Man, you are misinterpreting Jnk's humor and attacking him and the rest of us by association with your accusations that CPAPtalk is a cult. I understand that your past experiences have led you to believe this, but you've got two people (so far) telling you that your filters or chip (whichever word you want to use) do not allow you to perceive reality as it is.

Take a step back. Stop posting for a while. Think about what we have said and try to look at it differently. I have been where you are, reacting with kneejerks because of mistreatment in my past. It is possible to get past this, but it takes effort on your part and support from others. You have that from me.

Now, for a joke to lighten things a bit... Image This is me, avoiding any tomatoes anyone is trying to throw at me!

Not at all. What we have here is three people ganging up on me and trying to enforce their way of group thinking on me. And I am rejecting it. My opinion is just as valuable as anyone's here. So take your eggs and tomatoes and shove them up your asses.

Feel free to throw eggs and tomatoes at my posts. I will return the same. Don't blame me if I throw them faster than yours and they hurt more. I didn't start it.

You know, there's a name for people who post on forums and immediately pick on something, anything to start an uproar about... I forget the term, but it's not important, only that I think this is what's happening here. It's time to stop baiting and biting and being belligerent because it just feeds the fire. I know I'm probably asking for blasting myself, but I wanted to remind those who may not be familiar with the species that it is a 'known' computer type (apparently with nothing better to do) who deliberately starts arguments, only to disappear when we're all at each other's throats. I suggest not responding to any more of this guy's diatribes. Night all.

You're right, it's called a Drama Queen and his name is JNK. He had no business at all posting what he posted. Your foolish, immature mocking of newbies has probably ran off countless members from participating in this forum. If you have nothing nice to say to someone, then just keep your mouth shut. Don't be going around looking for people to taunt. You did it on three of my posts so far, and you finally pushed my buttons enough to find out what my tipping point was. That is bullshit. If you are not the moderator, you have no right to tell people how to post or that they will receive "eggs and tomatoes" if they share their opinion.

Grow up.

P.S. - I had a nice avatar until all this shit happened. Now I have one that tells you what I think about this bullshit, and where JNK can stick his eggs and tomatoes.

On a serious note, stickys probably are not a good idea here, if somebody comes in to look for help and reads a generic sticky post that says try a new mask, good luck, nice knowing ya. (they already got that from their doctor or DME, you can tell because they are here looking for something more) they are probably going to cruise right on by and not get any help whatsoever.

However if they post their actual problem (which varies by the person, and yes a lot are the same) and get a response, they are more apt to get the help they need, and be more succesful at their therapy. Theres enough people around here, with their wisdom, this place is sooooooooooo much better than most if not all doctors.
