Just to round of the story for you though the rest is not so amusing - went to get a new hose today. I couldn't take the idea giving the rental mob more money. And I wanted to check out the other "suppliers" in town.

I went to the counter at one of them, explained I just needed a new hose.

The girl said " are you a patient?"
No

The girl said, "ok but we may not be able to supply you with one, and we will have to charge you a consultation fee"

LOL. I didnt mind I guess. I waited and got excited as I saw the resmed spirit II in a cabinet with a great price sticker and thought these guys might be better than the other suppliers.

Anyway, I had to go into the sleep rooms and be "treated" with a new hose. Perhaps the rental mob found out and suggested the "treatment" but meant it in an entirely different way.

Cost me $51 bux. I asked for a price list and the pricing in the display was for the cheapest model, not the one they displayed.

Got a parking ticket warning (from them I assume from the wording) for parking in their customer bays since they had put a mini skip bin in them and I stuck out a bit.

So yeh, if I was trying to save money I would be about even now if you subtract the cost of the thermostat compared to the aussie sleep tube thing.

On the other hand, I do now know that standard hoses aren't designed for heat...

Cheers everyone for enjoying a laugh with me

Well then, keep up the good work!
Here ares some inspirational quotes from the famous Thomas A Edison!

- Nearly every man who develops an idea works it up to the point where it looks impossible, and then he gets discouraged. That's not the place to become discouraged. Our greatest weakness lies in giving up. The most certain way to succeed is always to try just one more time.

- Results! Why, man, I have gotten a lot of results. I know several thousand things that won't work.

-To invent, you need a good imagination and a pile of junk!

- Genius is one percent inspiration and ninety-nine percent perspiration!

I guess you already experienced the 2 last ones up close!

Take care!

But, of course, those are US dollars, not Aussie dollars. That is a killer exchange rate. LOL!

Once again, THANKS FOR SHARING. It is so much fun to laugh at our CPAP experiences--it is either that, or Image.

Ok, I can't stand it. How did you end up with 50 reptiles living in your house?

There was a fire that threatened a friends home. He ran a reptile rescue out of his house. We evacuated all the animals to our house for a week. It was pretty crazy. I learned how to give those snake injections myself at that time.

Dan, save yourself the embarrassment and buy a hose online. They are dirt cheap. Shipping to Oz will be spendy, but probably not THAT BAD.

If you get hung up, PM me. I can buy a hose for $8, and ship it to you for less than $20.

I have no idea how I got through my days at work before your HILARIOUS postings.

Huggers,
Babette

Oops, I posted my "helpful" post too late. Sorry!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Well, now you know. Hit up the US friends first before buying locally.

Of course, I don't have a Resmed. Could be your Resmed hose is fancier than my Respironics hose, which I can get for $8.

I found out through shipping a mask to McKooi that it's really not that painful to mail stuff to Oz. Now I know how, I don't want to stop. Do think of something I can mail you.

Crossfit - Being middle-aged and single, it's time for me to invest in Livestock. My sister - also middle aged and single - already has cats. Other sister - creeping up on middle age, and decidedly single - is the Ferret Fancier. I think there's clearly no other way for me to go than Reptiles.

What do you suggest? I was thinking Iguana, because they seem like fun pets you could take for walks.

But the snakes are so much more cuddly. Sorta like smooth-skinned koalas, really.

LOL,
Babs

Well, a diabetic cat is pretty bad! How long does it take to catch the kitty for a shot? Image

Does Rich have a series of exercises that will cure diabetes in cats? MAYBE that would be worth $20 USD?

Please read what my cousin and brother/sister-in-law faced:

All three are RN's, and at about the same time had aged cats who needed dialysis...and because they were RN's, it was especially handy for them do perform that at home. I am not certain if they had shunts inserted or not.
I AM fairly certain that very few cats would LIKE to have dialysis. Image Fortunately, they were on the aged side, and maybe were not as spry as they had been in their youth.

Karen,

Who wonders if snakes Image have dialysis?

80 watts, that sure is some power.

I have been using a 15w, 2 metre cord for a couple of months. Takes the edge off just enough to stop the rain out. Doesn't even come close to heating up to melt stage.

Tim would have been proud. Wilson "yep, yep, yep"

Buying the small stuff from the states is easy. I bought a hose from cpapauction for only $15. With the exchange rate at the moment it is still a pretty good deal. If you buy other stuf like a mask or filters, it usually costs no extra in postage.

It would be good to see the faces of the rental people when you took the machine back at the end and told them what you did.

Babs,

You really want a monitor lizard instead of a iguana. My sons have had both. The iguanas are not as "loving" in their opinion.

Jay's monitor lizard even slept with him and snuggled. Jay still lived at home then Bethel (lizard's name) was never kept in a cage unless we had company that was freakish about such things. Hey, that might take care of your man problems -- just get a male monitor lizard -- of course the sex part might be tricky .

Hey, Maybe you could wrap a hot dog up in aluminum foil and strap it to the hose. Breakfast in bed!! I wonder what yer dreams would be like?..........

Babs,

I would go with a snake. I love snakes. Just go with a red tail boa. And whatever you do, try and get to know the reptile first. They do have different personalities believe it or not.
