I just joined this Forum after just reading posts the whole day yesterday... I am in the process of purchasing an AUTO A-Flex CPAP from respironics...
I live in Calgary (Canada) and my technician wants to sell me the machine for $2,400... I see many on-line shops in the USA are selling it for around $700... No wonder, I am not going to buy it here in Canada... These guys still think our dollar is at $0.50 or less! Or they think we're stupid. i feel sorry for older people who don't use the Net and fall for these outrageous prices...
Anyway, can somebody tell me this:
1) Will I be able to set/adjust the pressures on my own after I buy the maching online? My original prescription is Min 7/Max 12 and I understand the machine would come already set up, so my question is for later on... if I need to make changes.
2) How is it done?
3) I read about people using a card reader and a software to view results. Would this software (Encore Viewer) work with my model?
4) Is there anyway to get it online for less than $130? e.g. ebay?
Thanks in advance.

Card Reader can be purchased for 24.00 and about 7.00 for shipping, works well with Respironics

Re: How to Set-up & other Questions
Yes, you'll be able to make changes quite easily. Since you're buying it from cpap.com, a "Provider Quick Setup Guide" will come with it, stating how to get into the therapy setup menu on the machine and clearly showing each menu item and what changes can be made to the item's settings.DHT wrote:1) Will I be able to set/adjust the pressures on my own after I buy the maching online? By following the instructions on the Quick Setup Guide card that will come with the machine.DHT wrote:2) How is it done?

I don't know if there's any online place selling Encore Viewer for less. Google search would be the way to find out, I guess.DHT wrote:4) Is there anyway to get it online for less than $130? e.g. ebay?
The least expensive place I know of to buy the correct necessary card reader is here:
