Need Help!

Post by queenofyawn » Thu May 12, 2005 12:27 am

Hello everyone,

I need help! I snore, but due to change in insurance have not been able to have my sleep study yet and may have to wait a few months. So no CPAP.

I will be going on a 7 day cruise with my new husband (honeymoon). He has difficulty sleeping anyway. I am very nervous. What is the most effective snore relief? Being on a cruise ship where we are confined to small living quarters could be miserable and a tragic start to our new life together.

Am I doomed!?!? He snores too, but for some reason he falls asleep slower than I do. He is a very light sleeper, while I could sleep through a hurricane. I am starting to freak!

You are marrying this man! For pete's sake, tell him what you're worried about. If he has a problem with it, you can always feign being kidnapped on your wedding day...

Otherwise, being open and honest should do the trick. That, a buy a few pair of top-notch earplugs. Enjoy your honeymoon!!

Thank you neversleeps!
I should clarify that my fiance knows about my snoring malady and is still intent on marrying me. Heh, was sleepy from reading the message board last night and did not state my dilemma clearly.

I had an appt. to have a sleep study several months ago, but insurance changed midstream and I postponed. I have been doing searches on the web for snoring aids and am very concerned about the trip. I fear that I will ruin our time together by keeping him from sleeping and have a grumpy hubby. We both have been working hard lately and really relish the idea of time together.

I am very interested in the dental surgery that Photogal speaks of and just began to research that more. I admit to being a newbie to all of the terminology.

My insomniac co-worker stumbled on to this site and pointed me here.
