I need some help regarding the use of 12 volt batteries. I am going on a mission trip to Haiti. I don't want to spend $500 on a battery pack that insurance won't pay for. Can I use a 12 volt marine battery to power my CPAP? If I can, how many hours would I get out of a charge? Can I charge the battery up by using a running vehicle and some jumper cables - how long would that take? (They have generators but don't run them all the time and I understand that it can take hours to charge a battery with AC. Would I have to have a power inverter connected to the battery terminals and would that regulate the voltage. Please help - I'm going in November and decided that I don't want to choke while I'm there!
