I really liked this mask the first 2 nights, please see my other thread about going back to the Vista.

viewtopic/t21752/Back-to-the-Vista--WOW ... night.html

The 481 Infinity caused a dental problem, (still in pain) and a sore in my right nostril. I still want to try this mask again, but, I will have to try the fixes my RT told me about. I have not given up on this mask, and my husband has one, but he doesn't have his machine yet. He should get his new machine in the next 2 weeks.
Caution! I brake for Elves, Fairies, Gnomes, Leprechauns, Unicorns, Dragons & and other invisible creatures only I can see!

When I went to the large prongs, the leaks stopped, and I can tolerate a fair amount of distortion of my nose (though I wonder what I'll look like in a few years).
Let us know if the microgear works and what the pros and cons are : ) Please post or PM the link to where you bought the microgear - thanks : ))

I will be getting the NAII when I know what size to order.

Infinity HC481 for Sale

Post by gasp » Wed Aug 01, 2007 10:00 am

I bought the Infinity HC481. I've decided to sell it as my hair is huge and I've decided I need a mask with headgear that will allow me to fasten the hose onto the headgear and thread my ponytail through. I was hoping to be able to use the Infinity since there is so little of it.

It comes with headgear versus the spaghetti strap string. It has 4 sizes of nasal pillows of which I've tried one. It is clear versus white as shown on the cpap.com site.

I should have tried the headgear on when I first got it, then I'd have known right away! : ) But, I was collecting data sleeping in my other new mask.

I'll sell it for what I bought it for plus Priority Shipping - $50 PM me if you're interested.

I'd forgotten that I was going to write about the micro headgear. I've used it for a month or so, with generally good success. It's a solid strand of silicone, about 1/8" in diameter and maybe 2 feet long. More than enough for my fat head. I wear it over the top of my ears, which caused a problem with a pressure point on my left ear that rubbed raw. The "fix" was to get some of those foam tubes you can get to provide a padded grip on pencils. A lifetime supply (25) for $4 at Wal-Mart.

The silicone has that sticky property against my skin, and the whole rig is less inclined to be affected by friction with my pillow than the neoprene headgear, so moving around at night is actually better with the micro gear. I can sleep on my stomach if I get to the edge of the pillow and let the mask hang over the side.

I have the strap tensioned pretty tight, since a constant pressure bothers me less than having the thing wiggle in my nose, but that leaves me with a couple of lines on my face in the morning, but with a face like this, who cares!

My only real complaint is that the ball joint doesn't always work as freely as one would like.

I went back to the UMFF for a few days to let my ear heal, and I really was happy to get back to the Infinity.

Thanks for the scoop on the microgear : )

I don't think it will work with my hair so I am still going to sell it.
